Psilocybe samuiensis for July 10, 2004
    #2874804 - 07/10/04 01:23 AM (12 years, 5 months ago)

Well after going into the Na Muang field this morning and walking about ten minutes, I found the larger cubensis I just recently osted today, Over the next hour found 11 more cubes and no Samuiensis. I had walked through over about forty rice paddie squares when i was just getting ready to leave the field I saw four near a wattery-rainy area.

Also saw man of the new Psilocybe (unidentified and non-active speices) submerged half inthe watr and out. I suppose I should have taken a photo. Maybe ont he way back home.

Once the water settles and thoe new Psilocybes grow tall, the P. samuiensis should re-emerged as that is their cycle.

here are two images. one natural and one indoors an hour after picking.

and a ruler to shw size. These are smaller than last months find. I need to get farther away and use the timer. I am having a hard time photographing them with the digital. they all blur.

this one did not.

But the caps were reddish inthe ground, not as seen aboe but dry to the brown color in the image with the ruler.

What? You walked by an unidentified species and you tease us with it? Thats not fair    :smirk:

I love your pictures MJ, and your stories are great fun to read (especially since you add a comic twist). Keep both of em comin IMO. I can only dream of what you are doing right now. To be in a remote (and I assume mostly mycologically un-documented) area searching for new species. Wonderful...

Do you only hunt Psilocybes while you are there?

Atwar, i think he was refering to a larger species of Psilocybe he discovered and has already posted photos of, a larger but non-active species of psilocybe; ?

anyways mj that samuiensis in the wild picture is yummy

what is the time differential to seattle compared to thailand?
-when i stayed in hong kong it was 12 hours from florida so was always easy to figure time differentials.
-two nights in a row im on the computer until 4 in the morning (lol), and when i begin to get sleepy your just waking up and posting pictures at tghe huntingh forum.  :stoned:

Even if he had posted it, whats wrong with posting another? The more pictures the better IMO, especially since it differs from the norm.

Tomorrow. I have already taken four thousand fotos with my digital camera in a month. They are stored on discs so I cannot send one today. I will photosomeo more tomorrow. They are just on the second flush. So are small. They grow tall.

You can check posts from 6-9-2004 for the first week after or so. then we had 16 days of no rain.

mj

I got my feet swampy already today and have been half injured form several incidents here since I arrived. two hours aday in the rice paddie is hot.
