Psilocybe samuiensis from Koh Samui, Thailand

Well this is kind of very expensive. wait till I come home at the end of cotober and put the digital images on line. THey are unbelievable and utterly shroomtastic.

Awesome looking mushrooms.
You have to let us know how potent those things are,habitat,all the good shit that I'm sure you're gonna tell us anyway when you return .

they look almost identical to psilocybe mexicana, mj isnt there a way for them to be the same???

Hello Airdog,

Well this species Psilocybe samuiensis Guzman, Bandala and Allen is the only neurotropic species of psilocybian fungi found outside of Mexico which is directly related to a Mexican species and which just happens to microscopically resemble Psilocybe mexicana. However it also macroscopically resembles Psilocybe semilanceata but only attains a height of not more than usually three inches tall.

As I left Koh Samui on Monday October 1st they were popping up ih colonies of from three to twenty shrooms in thousands of rice paddies.

However, I am now making a second excursion to ANgkor Wat in search of the elusive Copelandia species which sometimes grow their.

If I do not find any in the first day then I will definatelyfly back to Samui to collect more Samuiensis spore prints.

Yes, according to Guzman, P. atlantis is related to P. mexicana. So if P. samuiensis is related to P. mexicana, then it follows that P. atlantis is related to P. samuniensis. P. atlantis and P. mexicana both form sclerotia in culture so there is a good chance that P. samuiensis does as well.

Hello Workman,

Well I do not know about the P.atlantis yet although I now have several pictures of it. IT appears to be more of a caramel red than the P. samuiensis.

I have spores for you once I return home around the endo f the month.

And a few other strains, Including from Angkor Thom, east of the south gate of Copelandia cambodgeniensis and/or C. tropicalis from samui.

WEould liuke five prints in return for each.

Since samuiensis is very close to P. mexicana, I suggest that maybe it too would produce some sclerotia. Only time and your mastery of cultivation will tell. I herte tell Chieg Ill Eagle said he will meet with you shortly. He has great live footage from Samui too show.
