How do you reckon they got there? Spores blown away from a cultivated specimen or do you think they came from California? Just asking because I read a lot about species only growing on one side of the Rocky Mountains and wasn't sure if this applied to every species, under natural circumstances.

im here in ky, have found gym species,and ovoid's,but not those yet.

haha...that's a freakin log....yeah I've seen that before, and yes it will do that if you put a log on top of chips...both cyans and friscosa

sheer coincidence I found yet another patch with both types today near the homeland, San francisco (friscosa)



I'm guessing here but after a couple of years, when that log turns all white, you might want to bury that in more chips

I mean I can say it's not usually normal for a patch of friscosa or cyans to start with a log

usually it;s chips and then they get HUNGRY and start to go after anything edible nearby

ravenous

cyans in a log in San Francisco last year...but again there was already a grassy spot around it for years
