casing straight to fruit?
    #1341779 - 02/28/03 02:08 AM (14 years, 3 months ago)

i have read on some casing teks that some people case and then go straight to fruiting in the terrarium. has anyone done this? If so why wait for the mycelium to re-colonize that casing layer? Better fruits, better yeild, etc?

Robby

doesn't derrayld do this? he's a cool guy. well, i'd let them incubate for a day or two for the mycelium to regenerate/rebuild it's mycelial network, not to colonize the casing layer. either way would work...i guess it's a matter of preferance..

Yes I do it all the time, especially with PR's since they are known to colonize very rapidly. Fruit numbers don't really change though, either way, it depends on the amount of substrate to begin with.
