The truth is that the Mayan Haab calendar used to track the seasons counted a year as exactly 365 days, not the 365 and 1/4 days it is. Actually, it's 365 days, 5 hours, 55 minutes, 12.2 seconds or 365.2425 days.

The Gregorian calendar adds a leap year every four years to compensate for the extra 1/4 day, but the Mayan calendar doesn't. As a consequence, the Mayan calendar said it was winter in January for a while, then a few years later it said it was winter in July. Shit accuracy, in other words.
