Beautifully put. I like the way you speak, but I do not agree with everything you say.

I feel like I shouldnt say anything because i am preconditioned to believe that experience counts more than insight. However, I disagree.

Therefore, if I had to choose what the reason for a persons pedophelie, it would be the lack of intellectualization that surrounds sexuality in our relationships, especially early ones with our parents.

The dont ask, dont tell policy, in social interactions fucks us up. I for one believe that confidence, a lack thereof, arises out of relationships that are grounded in moral principles that are simply not working the same way they did in the past.

I think if people were more open about their own sexual experience, the sources of their insecurities, what they think the answere is and how they will go about to implement it, this kind of stuff will just poof from existence.

However, the way it is right now, most people are far far to stupid to even begin this sort of difficult journey, they can hardly even understand simple idea's and these are very complex and loaded with so much emotional reactions in people that it would be impossible to breach the perliminary blockages.

I definitely do not plan on repeating the same mistake my parents made, that my whole society makes, with my children. The only pre-requisite for this is being able to be far from civilization and its ineffable, destructive, anxiety creating, influences on the psyche of children.

People are cold and distant these days. If there is abuse, if it is not addressed it is always corroding the brain, affecting the way you think and see the world, always. Without proper examination and talking with others who have been in the same situation it just gets a hell of a lot worse.

Society does not help this at all. Instead, they ridicule those who would come out, homosexuals, rape victims they're all 'shunned' by society, instead of asking 'why are you different?'.

No one cares to understand, they simply look and judge then continue on. This coldness everyone shows to the abused just adds to their depression and feeling of self worthlessness.

If you can move on and forget what has happened to you, great, you are a strong person.

Society is to blame for those who are not as successful in healing.

I agree to a cerain extent. Although I do feel peoples ignorance is their responsibility....it really is better to think of it as an outcome of their experiences. People can hardly ever see past their social morality, because there is so many aspects to the whole thing and also people tend to shun intellectualism and trust in their feelings.

It really is a shame when they are the ones who complain the most and show the most hate....ugh, I really hate living in this society...so many ignorant people who will never change.

I have been molested and I would never ever harm a child. Nobody should live a life like I have been forced to live because of what that bastard did.

The OP has a bad case of blaming the victim.

yo people, tomorrow would be my brothers court date to testify against our dad who he claims raped him while blacked out drunk. My mother called and just told him this and she said if he doesn't testify, there is no case.  So he doesn't wanna testify and just said he wont... wtf would you even bring this shit to light for if you're not going to testify in court about it? Now he looks like an idiot honestly...

I know he's dealing with a lot but wtf...?

Testifying is VERY painful. I am glad my molester died while I was still very young, so that I was spared the horrors of criminal justice.

I was the last one he put his dick in.

I understand that, I bet it's really hard.  But to have DHS do a big long investigation, have my dad go down to the police station  multiple times for this, then just back off...? I dont have a single doubt in my mind that my brother is telling the truth, so why is he backing off now? He just said over the phone "nothing will get done, I'll testify and he'll walk free"

COME ON!!!!1

This is a perfect example of why I hate living in this society....

Hey Einstien, tell that to the scores of psychologist who have documented this phenomenum as a critical reason for this sad and horrible thing? I guesse if I have a bad case of blaming th victim, they must be to an even bigger extent than I. After all you must be way more educated and critical of the subject than a scientists, after all isnt that what average uneducated citizens are best at?

Secondly, why the fuck do you think I am blaming a victim? Are you seriously mentally challenged or something? I hope you are. I said that the victims have a higher chance of becoming a perpetrator!!!!

ACK, this makes me so angry!

Your thoughts and contemplations are every bit as valid as mine-- no need to apologise for disagreeing. I think of it this way-- if experience always trumped insight, then how much rarer would new inventions be? I think that it can sometimes be of great benefit to think on a topic without having direct experience with it. Call it "thinking outside the box" perhaps. It can be useful.

Although I'm not certain I'm clear on your point, (please forgive me), if what you're saying is that our culture and society are a big part of the pedophile's ingredients, then I would agree with you.

I find it strange that the US has both a highly repressive sexual culture living alongside a hyper-sexualized one. I do believe it's the dissonance between these two moral/cultural extremes that introduces/contributes to this kind of warped sense of perception (sexualization of young children).

It's always touchy, trying to lay out the reasons for pedophilia. I know the damage from a victims standpoint, but I hear the argument that "it's just a biological attraction like any other" and have to acknowledge some degree of fact to this. I understand. I mean, there are people that get turned on by freakin stuffed animals and feet.

I guess the bottom line, for me, is that despite their personal feelings, any adult that would give in to this urge, no matter how strong, is violating a universal human law against an emotionally and physically undeveloped, fragile human being.
That law is born of our intelligence and insight, gained and polished throughout the centuries. It's common sense.

I don't have all the answers on this topic. I don't know every right and wrong, under every circumstance. All I have is my personal history, and my thoughts. Each person must look in the mirror and know if they are a good person or not-- and anyone hurting a child knows what that makes them.

You're doing the right thing by expressing it-- and let me say that the most important thing for you to do is be honest about what, and why you have done what you did.

When this began, you were a kid. You didn't understand anything other than the pleasure/closeness part of it.

I don't think anyone could have blamed you for it. You sound like a good person to me.

The fact that you now realize the bigger picture of what happened kind of speaks for itself. The question I have of you would be simple-- do you or would you want to do this to another young person now, with a more adult context?
You must acknowledge that your story shows many red flags... but I'm not going to judge you as an active pedophile over them.
Are you in control? Have you spent as much time trying to understand and work through the reasons for these events as you have torturing yourself over them?

You have a lot of things that are in play here... I think you should do your best to confront them honestly, and do your best to solidify your sense of self.
Self-hate is not what is going to be productive-- for anyone. Understanding and the conviction to analyse the what and why will teach you what you need to know about yourself--and hopefully show that what you did as a kid will stay in your childhood.
Self-hate is absolutely useless for victims, and, in my opinion, is a major component of what ultimately makes an offender.

I think it goes without saying that the only reason I feel non-hostile about your situation is that it seems that these things happened when you were both young, and seemingly consensual... it reads as two kids exploring intimacy-- albeit unconventionally. But what you do going forward-- that is very, very different.

My situation was very different... so maybe my advise isn't as helpful as it could be-- but I hope it helps you

I coerced him into looking in my pants as I pretended to sleep and from there it just progressed. I performed oral sex on him and eventually he did on me. This happened about 5 times.

Man... you have to get care--- that's all I can say... I feel like this just isn't right. Just-- be aware of that, and get to someone you can safely talk to about this...

Sorry I used that word incorrectly.
Quote:
1 : to restrain or dominate by force <religion in the past has tried to coerce the irreligious %u2014 W. R. Inge>
2 : to compel to an act or choice <was coerced into agreeing>
3 : to achieve by force or threat <coerce compliance>

I didn't do that.. I just laid there and took advantage of his curiosity and he looked by himself there was no force involved..

I would never do it again.

I've done some research on this, and the vast majority of sexual exploration between younger kids is perfectly innocent and harmless.

Read some of these and these, they may make you feel a little better.

Although 8th grade is a little old and the age difference was bigger, the main factor is if real coercion and intimidation were used.  If not, most of the time its just normal curiosity.

This is an area where I think the social ideals of sexuality can fuck people up worse than the actual encounter when you're like 8.  Most likely the kid's totally fine, its just when you start mindfucking yourself into thinking you're fucked up in the head because you think you should be.

I'm happy to hear that--  I understand you were *both* young at the time, and it was the way you said it that made me wonder if the 10-year old was really the one exploring, or was being led to do what you wanted.

You understand how substantial the distinction is-- I'm glad you clarified it.

Keep going man. Do not loose site, your goal of emotional freedom is finally becoming possible, through your pain you will realize many things that will impact your life in ways that others envy you for. However, you must begin to string out this emotional knot and through it all you will be stronger for it!
