The caps are velvety and they have a dark brow blackish spore print. They also have an annulus(vail remnent).

They grow right together in patches sometimes even touching.

So look around in those areas, alot of times they will be in or near these locations.

Thanks for the tips weiliigod. That helps a lot and I will remember all that. I dont want to bore anyone with these pictures because I didnt find anything but some reg mushies. These are the kinds of areas I have been searching in. I went a few days after I took these in a diff area after the rain, still didn't see anything. Keeps me hopeful though that you spotted some around late May.

yea i've checked all my spots and nothin yet.......hope we get a spring season this year, it seemed to jump from winter straight to summer :frown:

Are these woodland areas or grassy? I would think with all the summer weather, that they would be fruiting all over. Hopefully, I will get time to go early next week.

Checked my spots (found nothing yet, but alot of velutina!) -.... its going to be real soon right after our next big rain! that is is we have a decent spring season this year.

with spring its always hit or miss with me.. last year was a weak spring. Likewise, 08 had a great spring season (atleast for me)...

yea mine are mostly grassy, however i do have a woodland spot that hasnt produced either......hopefully with the next rain we'll have something

checked a few areas today and found some psaths and in my experience they tend to fruit a week or two before the weilii so id be looking next week. WE NEED RAIN>
