Re: Question for the men concerning women and violence [Re: Anonymous #1]

So I talked to him. He wants me dead and so do his friends. They want to return the favor - blood for blood kind of thing.
Whether or not I deserve it, I'm terrified.

I've never felt so terrible in my life.
I'm absolutely terrified and this guilt is also taking over all aspects of my life.
I don't know what to do.

Wow that is quite insane. There must be more going on here than what I'm aware of..? His friends would especially not take that position over something minor.

When I got into it with my girlfriend, even my best friend shunned me because I violated his morality by hitting a woman.

I really don't know what to tell you besides leave him alone at this point. I don't understand what's going on.

Eh the people are just ghetto.

But why am I still in love with him? I can't move on. And he won't even let me explain myself or listen to what I  have to say which makes it worse.
This thread sucks because I feel like I'm whining alot and maybe I deserved his reaction.

But how do I move on from this and not have any attachment towards him?I want to write a letter to him and not send it...but knowing me I'll get messed up one day and give it to him.

:kingcrankey:

I'm not ghetto trash. I have a good education. Going back to school for nursing. I still acted ghetto I guess, but I'm not trash.

I just hate myself for falling into this trap of believing this man loved me. and now I am wondering what is going on in his head and how this will play out?

We had a friendship and a damn good relationship up until that point.

It's hard to let go of a friend, even when things get violent, because of all the MISUNDERSTANDINGS.

Yes he's violent.. He showed that clearly.

But..

Right now I just need to learn a good coping mechanism to forget about it. And one that does not involve using drugs to escape it.
I need to not feel so DOWN and depressed about it all.

If nobody has any input on how to MOVE ON from something like this then I'll just have to let this thread die and figure out a way on my own.. probably won't work out very well. sensible advice, maybe from experience, would be greatly appreciated

Yeah he overdid it. He didn't get stitches, I saw the mark. It was nothing. As were his threats.
I met him, he almost cried when I said I didn't owe him that money and didn't give him what he wanted and just left.
He's in a bad spot now I just sincerely hope he does not hurt the next girl he "falls in love with" because life has dealt him a shit hand and he is unstable.

I'm just asking for ways I can forget about him is all..

because there was good mixed in there with the bad. The good things are what I can't get out of my head.

But you all have been pretty generous w the responses. I'm grateful for that. Apologies for going ON and ON about this...

It's just the sadness I need to deal with now, and it's harder than it should be really, mostly because of the warmer weather coming up and not having a travel buddy.

Go find a new guy! Get a nice one this time and make sure he treats you right. That will definitely help you get over your crazy x. You don't need that crap in your life.

So I've being doing alot of reading on this matter elsewhere, and alot of people seem to agree that when a woman initiates the violence, the man has every right to respond. But the general consensus is that violence of any type in a relationship is wrong and is a sign of worse things to come.

However, this was an isolated incident and though I reacted out of sheer frustration by being hurt by his actions repeatedly, I should not have hit him. And he should not have hit me. I am trying so hard to get past this. But it's unsettling because there has been no closure. He refuses to understand me or accept that I am human and made a mistake. I have never abused him or hit him before or even said mean things to him.

I am just so fucking confused, I want him to forgive me but at the same time I cannot get past the pain he inflicted on me too. It seems like its all been a complete misunderstanding. And I can't move on until there is some sort of understanding between us.

My entire being is split right now.

people are stupid basically they advise against this sort of thing because it could lead to domestic violence, the thing the police are virtually spending their time on...

if someone cheated on me and i slapped them i would just consider that something to keep me from talking to that person, but if i slapped them they got their jaw broke, fell, sued me then i'd be screwed so i generally just drug them and dump them in a ditch somewhere never to be heard from again.
