Good thing you're not in charge with who should get pets and who shouldn't.
I have two cats and I take good care of them, and it was a vet who declawed my cat for the first time, and explained me that it was perfectly safe.
Considering that cats DO yell when they're in pain, and that they never do when they are getting declawed, it's obvious that it doesn't hurt them, and that it isn't presenting any threat to their integrity and health.

No, it's extremely cruel and sickening.

That's why it's illegal in just about every single country around the world, US is the exception.

You don't take good care of your cats, your basically cut their fingers off.

De-clawing cats is pretty fucked up.  My antrho teacher was explaining that its comparable to cutting off a humans fingers from a anatomical standpoint. .Under the claws they have finger looking things. They actually take off flesh not just the nail as well. Apparently it really screws up the way they go about surviving/living.


I would never do that to one of my cats cause I love them too much.

A person that declaws a cat is pretty much for 2 reason.

1. To stop them scratching humans.
2. To stop them destroying furniture/household.

If you deem these reasons above as justification for multilating an animal, no you do not deserve to own a pet.

Absolutely sickening.

I'm against tail docking and ear cropping... I will tolerate it, but declawing is a whole different ballgame.

Completely unforgiveable. That's why it's a criminal offence in many countries.

I agree 100%

Anyone who does it cares more about their furniture than an animals well being.  Some people don't deserve pets.

It's not just flesh, it's bone, tendons, muscle, and nervle bundles. It's fucking sick what people will do to their pets.:nonono: The really fucked up part about it is that in the US veterinarians are usually the ones that'll be like "nah, it's fine, it won't hurt at all". It's like most people start out on the path to being a vet driven by compassion and love for animals and they all get ethically fucked somewhere along the way.

and for the record my two cats have never clawed up a single piece of furniture, not even once. Not only is de-clwaing immoral its unnecessary.

If you cat does have a habit of it you can just buy a spray bottle, not mutilate them. :nonono:

I hope your vet didnt claim it wasnt painful when cats are being
declawed because the vet administers anesthetic to the animal to preform
the work... I've always kept a couple of cats as well as a few dogs,
I've never declawed the cats, I live in an area with all kinds of wild
animals like coyote, cougar, bobcats, bears, feral dogs and a host of
others, to declaw my cats would pose a danger tot heir integrity and
health because I like to allow my cats to roam outside and be cats when
they dont feel like being imprisoned
