anyone else have kittens/ cats.

well i have 2 kittens that are probably 10 weeks old now.. my question, when do these niggaz stop acting like assholes and quit terrorizing my house.. im about to break down and put a cap in both these kittens.

any tips or anything you want to say to help spare the lives

well i know kittens are trouble, when do they begin to mature though.. this is my first time owning kittens.. well i had a kitten at christmas but gave him away before i left for the army.. he was a hellion.

Even if you get them fixed they still have to grow up to lose that kitten energy. If you can't wait  "cap em".

12 weeks is minimum, I think. So make the appointment.

Edit- they will settle down in a while. 10 weeks is like a little kid. Wait until 6 months before you decide they are terrible.

yeah im trying to have patience.. theyve already terrorized all the computer cords and what not.

they arent bad when we're awake, it's as soon as we go to bed that they start working on anything out.

i know they're little babies i was just wondering what the timespan was for them maturing.

Oh, that's normal for young kittens. They climb on or chew on anything they find.

6 months to a year to start acting calmer. One year is typical 'adulthood', your kittens may vary.

It's been my experience that boy cats cause trouble longer, and then they start spraying. Get 'em fixed before that starts, or you may not be able to stop it. Girl cats don't raise a ruckus, they just have kittens- get them fixed too.

i have a boy and a girl.. brother and sister.. we had just planned on getting him neutered. can you really get it done at 3 months old? someone said i had to wait 6 months.

what about declawing? 6 months? They are only inside cats, so i have no problem declawing them.

Ask your vet about when he would suggest neutering... they'll have the best time frame for you.

Also, we keep all my cats in a seperate room at night for exactly that reason. Cats like to sleep all day and then raise hell at night, but if you keep them locked up eventually the little fuckers'll learn to do things the right way!

Here we have a 'free clinic' for pets, they fix them for cheap starting at 12 weeks. Ask your local provider about recommended ages, though. I haven't had a cat declawed, but it should be possible to do both at once.

is it too mean to put 2 kittens into a cat cage to sleep? just until they get a bit older?

we dont have a vet yet, we werent planning on using one.. our neighbor is in vet school and she is going to neuter and declaw them for us.

How crul to keep a cat lock up. They need space to roam. Let them keep there claws. How would you like being locked up all the time?

they are never locked up right now, thats why i was asking, i didnt know if i should do that at night to show them to sleep.

no, they arent keeping their claws.. and dont turn this thread into a conversation about why cats need their claws or how it is inhumane to remove them.

I'm not talking about locking them in a tiny cage or beating them with reeds. you people are far too sensitive.

Let them do whatever the fuck they want during the day, at night simply put them in a room that you're not using. If they choose to do so, they can play in that room and wrestle together all they want, but they WON'T be able to jump on your chest and chew on your nose while you're sleeping (which is really what matters here, right?). Eventually they'll get bored of the room and they'll learn to sleep when it's dark and play during the daytime when they have the entire world at their disposal.

Kapt- I have one of those litter boxes with a cover on it and a filter to keep the air fresh.

Here's my living sitaution, i should have included.. the cats never go in the bedroom or the bathroom.. period.. those doors are kept closed all day.. and they have the entire living room area.. but the living room is also where we have the computer and of course other electricals. maybe i could get one of those little gates you use for children and keep the kittens gated off and in the kitchen.. more thier kitten cottage in there too so they can sleep in that.
