Cat Problem...
    #3415963 - 11/27/04 03:37 PM (12 years, 11 days ago)

So my friend took in a stray cat that kept coming around his apartment...

Recently, the cat (its female) has been screaming like hell and lying on her back with her hind legs up in the air, spreading her ass or something.

It has no shots or anything, its just a street cat.  Anybody have experience with this type of thing?

Sounds like she might be in heat.

That's what I thought at first...

However, she's only about a month or two old (maybe thats old enough to be in heat)

I hope its that and not that she's not dying :frown:

i took in 2 cats out of a dumpster, and thier startin to act all funny.

i knew this one crazy wiccan chick, who had a black cat follow her home, and then she took it in (and never let it out) and it ended up having like 5 kittens.

On its back with legs in the air seems like a 'spazticity' problem (genetic disorder). Does she piss/poo on herself? can she eat? Does it look like her muscles are spazing out?

I have had kittens start cycleing at 6weeks some times. The more times a cat cycles, the more chances it has to contract uterus and ovarian cancer. In my area they wil fix a stray cat for free if you call the pound. They capture, fix, then release with a small mark on the ear so they know its fixed.

Also, another thing is a lot of health insurances cover spaying. I know MediCal allows one a year itself, and if not local SPCA's give pretty good deals if you tell them its a feral cat.

Yep! That definitely sounds like a cat in heat. If it persists more than a week or so, you should take her to the vet...
