Your thoughts on declawing cats? * 6
    #23852139 - 11/20/16 05:11 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Essentially the claw of a cat in one of its knuckles. It the equivalent of cutting the tip of your fingers. Although there are human advantages to declawing you cats (damage to furniture), there is 0 advantages for the cat. It only cripples them. They can no longer fight, they cat no longer grab on to something when they jump, they can't grab a hold of something. They are crippled.

New Jersey (of all states) just recently banned declawing of cat with a 1000$ and or 6 months in prison to any vet that does it. Progress in my opinion.

Do you support declawing cat?

It's bullshit.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Psalm 12:6
The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
Hebrews 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Revelation 3:11
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

I think it is fucked up, how hard is it to keep your stuff out of reach fom your pets? I get with furniture it is hard but train your pets FFS. Get em toys.

I also think putting animals in kennels for more then a couple hours is extremely cruel, clearly some animals can handle it better then others but still.

Pets have to undergo a lot of abuse often times and much of it gets overlooked becouse it is so common.

I do not support.  Don't currently own a pussy but IMO a pussy without claws is not a pussy worth having.

I don't really have strong feelings about it one way or the other, but it's probably good to have the option in case the cat is a dick. I've never had a cat as a pet and probably never will. Thankfully I grew out of my cat allergy but my wife is very allergic to them.

I dont declaw my cats, I will clip the tips off if I feel they have an issue with
the claws on my furniture but I'd never declaw them. to me it's inhumane

My cat loves to bite all my wires. I would consider de toothing before declawing. De toothing cats is more humane than declawing.

My thoughts? that its cruel and unnecessary. If you can't provide scratching posts/surfaces for your cat, you shouldnt have one in the first place.

True.

My cat loves to extend his claws when on my lap when i pet him. Drives me MAD.

I wish i could declaw him but i know it would scar him for life and might change his personality forever.

But i would love a declawed cat.

Declawing cats is cruel.

That being said I inherited a 16 year old cat that was declawed as a kitten.  Other than being a little senile from age he seems okay.  He is a bit of a biter though.

it's pretty fucked up considering you could just take em to petco to have their claws clipped if you really thought it was that big of a deal

Declawing cats is just wrong. It's like surgically removing their fingers and they have no idea why you did it.

De clawed cats tend to be more aggressive and resort to biting rather than scratching. If they get in a fight they have no effective way of defending themselves.
