Re: Looking to puchase a handgun [Re: Grizzdude]

BTW that's not my XD, it's a photo I found on the internet.

And I dare you to fire a Glock after shoving it in a puddle of mud. Suffice to say, a magazine jam will be the least of your worries.

Don't buy into the Glock Hype. They aren't nearly as great as the stories.

Already have, and like I said I've done many of my own tests, underwater, pulled out of a 5 gal bucket of mud, and I fell down the side of a mountain (I'll admit I was a little drunk at the time) And my Glock has NEVER FAILED!!! I'm talkin personal expierience here. All I'm sayin is I've seen enough to trust no other gun than Glock with my life!

So you've fired your glock underwater and submerged in mud? Am I getting this right?

The Glock 23, it's the mid sized 40 cal. They actually sell water cups for the Glock 17 to shoot uderwater. None for the 23 but mine still shot a full clip under water with no problems.

Magazine... not clip.

So you fired a full magazine underwater without any cycle problems? If so that's amazing. But it's completely useless.

I completely agree. I'm not in some muddy under water battle, but it just goes to show that I can trust my life with gun. I know it will fire if I pull the trigger EVERY TIME!

Let me elaborate upon what I meant by the XD fixing the Glock shortcomings.

Primarily the grip safety, which ads an extra layer of peace of mind while concealed carrying (expecially with no externaly safety.

Secondly, grip angle. The Glock grip angle SUCKS (some like glock tho). The XD is much more comfortable in my hands and I can get much tighter grouping with it (.40 vs glock 22).

Whether or not you can fire it underwater without destroying the barrel, I don't care.

I'll take a XD over a Glock any day of the week.

I'm sorry but I find the Glock to be very accurate. Although I can't knock the XD because I have not used it. I will point this out, I have seen another person accidently fire a glock and no external safty was blamed. But that is why I carry it, It will fire if the trigger is pulled.
