This is actually not true. It's usually only said by people who know nothing about firearms. A 22 will kill from several hundred yards away.

440 yards will still kill with a 22. Not like anyone can hit a man sized target from that range. But all the shit talking about 22s is absolutely ignorant.

Ofcourse a .22 will kill a man, you can kill a man with a spoon if you really tried to, a gun is much easier though.
But the reason why people shit talk 22s is because they don't have much power compared to other ammo usually. Hunters don't hunt big game with .22 rifles for a very good reason. They are less likely to kill because of the size of the bullet, and the area of the bullet is so small.
But you better believe if they hit you with that .22 bullet, it's gonna hurt like hell.

I actually would rather have a small caliber being used for home defense than a large one. If I fire a 22 in my house I don't have to worry about it going through the baddie, a wall, and into a loved one after the fact. Also bullet tumbling. You think a 22 just goes inside someone, and stops after making a clean hole? no way dude that shit goes in, tumbles around sideways, hits the other side, and bounces around like a fucking pinball and tears your insides to shreds. Your not hunting large game. The only time you'll ever need to fire a gun into another human being will be within ten feet. I.e. someone breaking into your house. You don't want to have to worry about who's on the other side of the body you're putting a round into. Not to mention, also, if you can't hit a vital organ in the close quarters of a self defense situation you shouldn't own a firearm.

Well, you should get this gun then. 22 caliber and it has a 30 round clip. Plus it's compact, and looks cool as shit.

Actually, the biggest problem with a .22 is that they go a long way. It's pretty common for them to go flying for a while and killing some random.

No thanks. Looks impractical as fuck. I'm okay with my keltec sub 2000
It's 9mm anyway not 22 but still. This is my home defense weapon.

Here's a quick video on someone shooting it. It looks weird, but it fits nicely in the hand. They even have an attachment to make it a rifle pretty much.
Do you actually own that weapon?

Guns U have to hold real steady, even at close range of a target, can in no wise be good for self d. situations. In a fight for your life it is usually no time to steady hold and ease pull the trigger. that .500 mag wouldn't be useful in a struggle.
A .22 handgun U can sling out quicker and shoot it. .22s should be ideal for struggle situations vs a .500 mag.
A real gunslinger would choose a .22 cal. handgun over a .500 mag handgun. .500 mag handguns are in wise good for a fast pull out and shoot fancy gun slinging.
Life can depend on the fancy shooting of a gun.

(Another thing that would be good for a .22 gun is that they are significantly quieter to shoot than the high calibers.)
Most 22 hand guns are not quiet at all. My walther p22 and sig mosquito are both chirping little bastards.
My father gave me a Ruger super blackhawk .44 mag revolver when I graduated high school 13 years ago. Still my favorite gun I own and im an Idahoan so there's a lot to choose from between me and my kin.. basically anything you want to shoot that's not class 3
Plus ammunition for .22 is very hard to come by now a days unless you have a stockpile. But guns are like tools, different purpose for different calibers.
Just my 4 cents.. DK

Yeah. I can take a picture of it when i get home but I'm actually more comfortable posting pictures of drugs on the Internet than I am posting firearms.
The sub 2000 is awesome. It's classified as a rifle, and not a pistol, takes glock 9mm magazines, adjustable stock. My only gripe with it is I had to buy a whole new front end of the gun to get picatinny rails on it, because it comes without any rails or anywhere to mount anything when you buy it factory. but it's a pretty cheap gun anyways. You can score one for around 500 and 9mm isn't too spendy so you can still have some fun with it.

Technically it's a rifle. By law.
But in actuality it's a glock with a folding barrel and a crane stock. Hahah.

I've never seen a muzzle loader smaller than a .48 most are .50
Also most likely not a musket, muskets are smooth bore guns and I'm sure yours is rifled unless it's antique. If you do actually own a musket, you can probably sell that shit and buy ten sub 2000's.
Also you have no excuse not to own a sub. You can afford one off minimum wage. Hahaha.
Go Snag one. 200-500 dollars.

Probably not legal in California but I'm sure you need to pass a background check for a fucking nerf gun there anyways.
