I guess it all comes down to personal preference.

I really can't knock the Glock. After all it's a staple of most US police officers.

But my preference is the XD. And Also the 1911 style. Single stack would be more comfortable IMO.

But take it with a grain of salt since I don't carry or own either.

Actually my aim for a first carry piece would be the CZ 2075 RAMI in .40.

the most comfortable carry gun was pulled from the market,
apparently people dont like pistols that go off in the holster

I've heard about the Vektor. They went all out on the snag proof design. Retarded safety and accidental discharge... no mas.

Plus it looks fucking stupid.

If I had a firearms licence (which I don't) I would go for a Glock 17.

the track record:

Quote:
the Glock 17 was accepted into service with the Norwegian, and Swedish Armed Forces, surpassing all prior NATO durability standards. As a result, the Glock 17 became a standard NATO-classified sidearm and was granted a NATO Stock Number (1005/25/133/6775).

and the fact that it holds 17x 9mm Parabellum says yes to me - thats 3 revolverloads of kickass rounds in one clip magazine

I love my Glock 23. It's my winter carry piece.

In the summer I prefer my Sig P230.

I want to get a handgun just to shoot with some buddies on the weekend. What's a good economically priced gun that's fun to shoot?

As has been suggested, get a .22

Buckets of fun, cheap(er) ammo.
