What you suggest is a zombie state where no knowledge is possible, reason is impotent and mere 'perception' without thinking is the basis of your being. I find that idea false and repulsive. It is certainly not a refinement of any mode of cognition as it is an outright rejection of cognition itself.

I believe that these "mystics" are attempting to put you into a hypnotic trance in their teaching so that you accept what they are saying as true

I personally know someone who is locked in a trance

shes like a fucking robot

she crys out for help sometimes

If you make a unfalsifiable claim that cannot be proven with reason and logic then it is not a claim that relates to reality and is therefore false.

Your philosophy has as much to do with 'freedom' and 'liberation' as the communist parties manifesto.

A. buy a book
B. go on random internet forum

If someone posted 1+1=3. I would say you should buy a math book. I would not attempt to teach them math.

I am always aware of my body functions, feelings, and content of consciousness and if anything this leads to being less present(focusing on internal feelings instead of engaging people)

I'm not saying its a bad thing(at least my personal awareness) or a good thing but its definitely not something that makes me feel more present which is what this thread is about

if anything it makes me feel more distant especially in social situations

and despite the fact that I am in pretty much a constant state of awareness, I still critically analyze what I observe based on my worldview and preconceived notions

Hypervigilance is an enhanced state of sensory sensitivity accompanied by an exaggerated intensity of behaviors whose purpose is to detect threats. Hypervigilance is also accompanied by a state of increased anxiety which can cause exhaustion. Other symptoms include: abnormally increased arousal, a high responsiveness to stimuli and a constant scanning of the environment for threats.[1] Hypervigilance is a symptom of posttraumatic stress disorder.[2]

Psychology and psychiatry are both in their infancy, trial and error stages of development. The fields struggle to even have a valid definition of what conciousness is. Of course they are going to try and get a grasp on the mind through any means necessary. That is not a credit to the practice of mindless...I mean mindfulness.
