And just in case you're not convinced that it's anything more than "relaxation," here's Ken Wilber using an EEG machine to demonstrate the degree of control an experienced meditator can have over their brain:

I could need read those peer reviewed as I was not willing to pay money to read them as the site requests. All of the 'benefits' described for meditation can be explained by the benefits of relaxation.

I do love that Ken Wilber video and how he can reduce his brainwaves to Zero. That kinda proves my point more than it does yours.

I love how you made up your mind before reviewing the evidence.  It's very religious of you.

Yeah, if you look at it from a juvenile, Beavis-and-Butthead attitude:

:butthead:  Huh huh...He's got no brain waves.

:beavis:  Yeah...hehe...He's dumb...hehe...

I've read articles about the supposed 'benefits of meditation, that is where I came to this conclusion. Don't be so presumptuous as to think that I have not already done my research or that you are the only person to ever post links to articles for me on the subject.

Also, I did not say Ken was dumb, I did however make many statements in this thread about the zombie-like state that meditaters are advocating, Then you go and post that video. That was funny and it does actually prove my point more than it does yours.

Please excuse me if you don't share my sense of humour. Perhaps you just don't like that the joke is on you.

Well I did not make it all the way through this thread, but I noticed that the posters do not seem intent on listening and trying to understand the answers to their questions.

It appears that instead you wish to bait with a question so that you can argue, playing a game. An ego game.

Person #1: "You can not cook a hot dog."

Person #2: "I cook hot dogs with the sun."

Person #1: "The sun is too far away, you fool."

If person #1 gave person #2 the benefit of the doubt, they would look for how person #2 could be right, rather than how they could be wrong.

You see, person #2 could use a magnifying glass, or a reflective cooker, or perhaps they are burning wood from trees that were grown from the sun's light. There are a thousand ways #2 could be right.

The problem is, we have incomplete knowledge. Why make assumptions and form beliefs when you have incomplete knowledge?

From many of your posts it seems you aren't always rational yourself.

It's quite irrational imo to consider oneself rational.
