Philosophy, Sociology, & Psychology Regulars
    #11319283 -

I have a proposition: Why not add the label "PS&P Regular" to all users that have posted in this forum more than X number of times, just like the label that 'Trusted Cultivators' have in the 'Mushroom Cultivation' forum, and "Trusted Identifiers' have in the 'Mushroom Hunting and Identification' forum that appears under their avatar; this label will only appear in posts made in this forum, just like the and "Trusted Cultivator" and "Trusted Identifier" only appear in their proper forums.

This is in recognition of their many contributions to the nature and character of this forum, and the many times they've had to deal with the noob who shows up with a new, mind-blowing concept that's actually an old rag we've deconstructed here a hundred times over the years. If you're new here, keep that in mind. Stick around and become a regular yourself!

This feature would make it so there's absolutely no confusion in regard to who gets "a Lotte more discretion from the moderators."
Would you like this to be implemented?

Let's work on finding a solid full-time moderator before we already start deciding who is being given discretion by them.

Actually, I think that "long time forum regulars" rule is nothing but crap anyways and it should go away for good. because it sounds like nothing more than some old creepy gentleman club.

So you're saying that it is a full-time moderator's (as opposed to Shroomery users') prerogative to decide who is a regular user?

Me too. One of the few bona-fide geniuses in this forum, IMO. :sadyes:

I don't really like that idea of mods playing favorites in the first place  The rules should be the rules regardless, but that's coming from someone who probably wouldn't be one of the favored ones quite yet.

If we could somehow measure how many posts of *quality and substance* someone has accrued, I might get behind this.

(that's not directed at anyone in particular, btw...I know I've had plenty of go-nowhere posts in here (whew, covered my tracks...I'm not special, gotta be careful))

I think it's better for users of this forum to decide who is a regular user via a poll (e.g.- like the one I just made) than to give this decision to moderators.

That system makes a lot more sense for cultivation because its more of a science. This is PSP things said in here arent really going to be advice about something as tangible as the proper hows of cultivating something or whatever. It would merely be masturbatory/unnecessary.

Nah, I think Poid definately has a unique style in P&S&Whatever.

...ok, he did kind of jack the whole death anxiety thing...but it's a fairly true concept IMO, though its universality could be debated.  Nothing wrong with spreading it around some more.

On the internet? Poll for one or simply wait around until someone wants to spend their time filtering through the same damn threads for the rest of eternity.

I'm saying if we currently don't have an appropriate and regular moderator then that should be our first concern, not whom said moderator's favorites are. And based on what, post counts?

The whole premise sounds like a quick :stonedjerk:

Let's work on finding a solid full-time moderator

I read this forum *every* day and handle every moderator notification and complaint I find in my in-box.

What more do you want, exactly? You seem a bit demanding for someone with 75 posts. Or are you recycling an old screen name?

Republican Values:

1) You can't get married to your spouse who is the same sex as you.
2) You can't have an abortion no matter how much you don't want a child.
3) You can't have a certain plant in your possession or you'll get locked up with a rapist and a murderer.

4) We need a smaller, less-intrusive government.
