anxiety as alternate to courage maybe.

you and a hungry lion are in a gladiator match, one of you will die.  who has death anxiety and who has courage? what caused it?

My only problem is with people who do it cronically. Like you. You make outlandish claims all the time and won't back them.

All i claim to know, is the Self (and what comes with that knowldge)

The only way i can 'back' it, is to stay knowing the Self!

What other way is there to 'back' it?

can i get round the back of Infinity & support it in any way?

You say you know what is after death or some such thing. But a christian sez he knows god.

But you have no evidence you even know the "self"  whatever you mean by that.

I claim I'm enlightened. You claim ....

no one needs evidence. It's spaghetti monsters all the way down.

Why do you keep asking for it then?

The evidence is in the practice & experience, NOT the theory

Is this that hard to grasp?

My theory is 'know thyself', if you fail to practice it, why ask me for evidence?

When you did science at school & you did a chemistry test, did you not learn theory, then practice, then conclude...or did you ask to conclude before practicing?

No it's not. Yet I practiced and had no experience along with many others here and we conclude it's not true.

And as far as experiennce/evidence of fraud we have been able to witness the fall of many gurus and spritual teachers over the years all preaching what you do.

the only guru's i could say i have 'followed' is Ramana Maharshi or the Buddha
have a look at Ramana Maharshis life perhaps...
he is the real deal

also, if someone is awake theres no such thing as 'falling from grace'

freedom is freedom, not 'now im a guru cant do this anymore'

How would you suggest I do this? The same way I can take a look at Jesus.:monkeydance:

I liked bag wan. I read several of his books and I agreed with a fucking lot of what he said.

Not that it made much difference for him in the end. Yet I think to an extent he was pretty awake. In the end however his emotional makeup (his psychology:wink:) overrode any thing he "knew".

 i do love you icelander...

i don't feel Ramana had much emotional makeup
ive had similar death experiences like he had when he was a child
each time i have the experience it destroys a bit of that 'stuff'
it literally feels like 'fuck im dying'
very very similar to a very bad trip

really what he was, was just a blank sheet of consciousness
a slate that had been wiped clean through ego death
not much of a 'person' left there

perhaps im biased, but i have so much love for him its ridiculous

Some people are simply curious and like to investigate that which is not investigated yet. So to ask evidence for that which is not investigated yet is like asking the outcome of a football match that is still being played.

I actually like you also. In fact I basically agree with what you are saying. I think we are coming toward the same thing from different sides. I looked into Ramana and also feel he might have been the real deal. I'll never know most likely. But shit man I got to find out everything on my own as best I can. I'm trying to face things that I was totally programmed against and from a childhood that was bereft of love and support. I know I'm a hard ass. I'm warped that way. I'm still hurting about some shit that doesn't really make any difference at all. I know that. But I am changing I believe. Inch by inch. Facing my death anxieties I believe is my last challenge. I'm trying to find that way of surrender you talk about. But I got to do it fighting cause that's what I know.

I'm glad you're here posting.

If there is already proof for something there really isn't much to debate.

Let's debate gravity.

Cool

I like your take no shit attitude, but also appreciate the once in a while heartfelt honesty like above...

Coming through death anxiety is really the finality of every being, so many put it off until the last breath...

Let's debate gravity.

Sure we know gravity exists, but try to explain gravity next to the mystery explanation of "bending of space-time" as that doesn't explain the mechanics of the process. It simply putting another label on it. But what forces determine this attraction, what forces make up gravity is still a mystery. Labels like gravity seem to convince people that the mystery of gravity is already solved, but it isn't. And it goes for most things out there. Now how is evidence for gravity going to solve any part of this mystery?
