Ok, so i am going to burning man on my motorbike and need to carry my bike on it + have been pondering how to make this happen for awhile now, but i leave on Wednesday so this weekend i need to figure something out.
FYI:
-bike is a 21 lb single speed -motorcycle has a rear "top box" which i would like to have access to. -bicycle has a bolt through rear wheel. I would like to avoid removing it.
It is necessary to consider how the bike will sit, primarily because it will affect my shoulder checks and vision in my mirrors.
Anyways, here's what i got rigged up so far:

In action it will be tied down/stabilized with ratchet straps. Also, the hooks will be reinforced.
I am debating if it is worth it remove the rear wheel and add hooks on the other side and carry the wheels on those, to balance the load. I am also contemplating removing the forks/handlebar, so they are out of my way. - By the same token, i might just 'go for it' as is.
*shrugs* - just looking for some 2nd, 3rd, and 4th opinions, because i never got much at at the motorcycle message board... So anyone have any ideas? ill bump this in the morning.

with a rack that secures it well, but otherwise, you're on the right track.

Nice bike! I think your current set-up should be fine.
Just make sure you are allowed to have stuff stick out this far to the side/back. And whether you are required to attach any markers.

Do it sidecar style.Have both of the bikes wheels touch the tarmac.Strap it to the the right handed side of the motorcycle.

Thats another question i had. in the US would i call the DOT, or state troopers, or department of highways?
I have no probably attaching some flagging, and was going to bring some for that purpose anyways.
Thanks for the comments so far. Ill post what i figure out in the end.
