That is an interesting idea I haven't thought of before. Maybe at one point in time 'God' literally translated to 'I don't know' but it's meaning has been largely obfuscated. Obviously it would be in a different language, and well before written text. Possibly something we might not even label as a 'language' per se.

Upon seeing this, I couldn't help but say :wtf: and then :facepalm: for this illustration being so ludicrous. It's implying that religion can't get you to where you want to go, but GOD can. How is god different that religion? this is coming from a christian church. Is christianity not a religion? WHAT)_THE)_FUCK

I won't try to explain a drawing I've never seen but I can comment on what I've just read. Religion is not the same as God. Religion is about ritual, religion is for people, not God. Technically christianity could be called a religion but that is not what Jesus had in mind, in fact modern christianity is a fairly new thing. 'Church' is a tool of control, a place to go to make yourself feel better and a place where your peers can shame you into acting the way they think you should. I was raised southern baptist and it took me many years of seeking God to shake myself free of the chains of religious bondage. Christianity, imo, is about anti-religion when you really look at the life of Jesus. More and more people are starting to adopt this point of view and I think it's great. I'm sure as misguided as the artist that drew that pic may or may not be he/she was well meaning in drawing it. A week or two ago during a rather strong mushroom trip I realized that if we are God's children we can not be separated from him anymore than our own children can be separated from us, they carry our dna, no? The whole point of the life of Jesus was to give us the good news that we are NOT separate from God.

In a nutshell, religion is man's attempt to appease God by his own hand.
