Nah, I just think 'we' should all speak for ourselves. Some people are color-blind. It doesn't mean there aren't a full range of colors.

Gee, Mr. Pot I think I could find a few examples where you didn't take your own advice. :zappa:

No, I don't believe all life is meaningless. I believe all life is meaningful. If we weren't given the option of spirituality, then all life would be meaningless.

As for the High, Low poems.. cool. I still think a meaningless life is tragic.

and I have seen evidence of the spirit. I've been in rooms where almost everyone could speak in tongues. I've been in places filled with the Holy Spirit. I've seen miracles, healings right before my eyes.

Spirituality is subjective, I don't think anybody here is arguing that life can't be subjectively meaningful. :shake:

Why is a meaningless life necessarily tragic? My life has no meaning, but I get high all day and enjoy it. Show me the tradgedy here. :stoned:

you have to get high all day to enjoy life.
getting high is most of the time just a happy smokescreen
that makes you smile for no reason but you feel good

you'll no doubt go through struggles in life and at the most painful, a meaningless life won't seem like much to live for then

From my perspective, we apply our own meaning, and we always have.

Nobody is always happy, and I don't understand why you need to have meaning in your life in order to want to live it. If you found out that your life was meaningless, would you kill yourself? :suicide:

My point was that life can be meaningless, yet fulfilling.

Yes, that's subjective meaning, but there is no objective meaning to life.

Exactly. The point I'm making is that when some people hear "life is meaningless" they usually get upset, thinking to themselves something like "What do you mean? Life does too have meaning!"

Well, no it doesn't. Not objectively, right Poid?  Right.

BUT, to those people I say: this is not a bad thing. All the meaning I have felt in my life up until that point (when someone claims/ed the meaninglessness of life), it really was there present in my life. This doesn't mean I write off all the meaning I felt life had, there is and was subjective meaning, and I had been applying it all along.

Of course, maybe that's just me.

Well, for me, it's not enough.. it hasn't been enough.

living a meaningless life almost always sends me back into some kind of depression or numbness at some point.

i guess i just don't have the optimistic spirit.

At times yes I have applied my own meaning, it was wonderful, but when the moment fades and a different day creeps up it's just as easy to unapply this meaning, in my case at least.

You, Poid, have probably got a personality that can live with this, but my guess is you're still young and it won't always be like this. I guess you could juice it out while you can... but why?

I guess, why believe whole heartedly that there is nothing more, when that's all you've put effort into doing? You do not know, 100%, that there isn't more, because I doubt you've really committed yourself to finding the truth. The most important thing. You've simply believed, by public opinion here, mixed with a couple shroom trips that encouraged you to ask questions but not all of them, and the fact that you weren't converted into any religion yet...
that atheism is the only way to go.

K, don't bash me now, of course I don't know you or if that above is true, it's probable for some.

anyways I guess the point of this rambling post is just I think the truth deserves more. Deserves all of you. I think one should seek it with all it's mind and if deterred realize it. It's just that important...

depression is a blessing, it makes you look deeper into who & what you really are
what makes you happy & what breaks your happyness

ifit wasnt for depression & dissatisfaction we'd be dancing in delusion for eternity

waking up must happen & we don't wanna wake up from sweet dreams, we wake up from the nightmare

finding the Truth of this waking state Now, is the mot important thing possible in a human body, to fully know yourself as That Immaculate Eternal Being, then your life is the song of the ever free!

:peace:
