Golden Gate Park and Central Park the same size?

So i was using the "ruler" tool in google earth a bit ago...

Seems like GGP and Central park are the same dimensions, roughly 3 miles long and 1/2 mile wide?....

I've never been but I always though CP would be much bigger than that :shrug:

i think central park is slightly biger
area wise
or so iv been told :shrug:


GGP is an amzing place

beauty,enchantment. and crusty ugly evil shit are arounf every corner

i love it there


truly a spectral place to have grown up

i can remember plating in lots of parks in sf when i was a lad

but i always remember feeling like it was a treat to go to ggp

it was soo big

there where so many diffrent plants. ecosystems

museums, playgrounds. and PEOPLE

iit hold a very special place in my heart

Yea, just did some searching and found that GGP is 1017 acres, making it 174 acres larger than CP.

Yeah it is a long park, i think CP is only shorter probably by a few hundred yards.

I have gone from Haight to Sunset...The first time i kept thinking to my self, "How fucking big is this park?...Should be seeing the ocean soon!"

GGP really is an amazing place, so much to see and explore. The park is full of life...plants, animals, and people (*and mushrooms :wink: ) . Has a great vibe to it, and just to think of the history and everything that has gone down there.

This spring or summer me and a few buddies plan on taking a hit or two of LSD and spending a day in the park...Like that's never been done before :smirk:

this past hardly stricjtly bluegrass fest me and my buddy both got our faces stolen in that park by charming young park dwelling folk

i felt like it was kinda there good kara token for the day

almost no words where spoken

they just stoped us. we looked at them
they looked at us
then they ripped us off some paper and put it on our toungs. and we bid them good day
