I wan't to download all of the Grateful Dead's shows. As many tapers as there were then, and as much technology as there is now.... I bet all their shows can be downloaded somewhere. Anyone know where?

I know a guy who lives in a suburb North of Baltimore named Lou. He has an entire homemade 8x6 foot case in his bedroom full of taper cassettes. Must be like 1500 cassettes on there, all GD shows. Damn I love that collection he had!
So, I wanna get around 1000 burned show cds. That would be soooo nice!

I highly recommend SHNs over MP3s. With MP3s the files are smaller in size but there is a loss in sound quality. With SHNs, there is no loss in sound quality.
Just remember...
SHN = lossless
MP3 = lossy
So you download the SHNs, then convert them to WAV files for burning onto CD. I suggest using MKW to convert an SHN file to a WAV file. Go here to download MKW: http://www.etree.org/mkw.html
And remember http://www.etree.org is the holy grail of sites for info on collecting free lossless live music.

Here it is, the infamous Meddled ROIO, feverishly sought after by
Floyd fans wanting to hear what Meddler was supposed to sound like
before being mistakenly editted to mono.
It came from an FM broadcast over the BBC in England. The stereo
dimension adds so much to the recording, you can actually hear very
distinctly what each band member is doing.
This ROIO is just an incredible listen from start to finish. The
sound is amazing as is the performance of the Floyd. Fat Old Sun
never sounded better. It is important to note, Embryo and Blues
came from a different original source I believe. You can read all

db.etree.org is a good place to start if I were you and you're really into jam music ive been a part of "phishhook" which is a community dedicated to trading live jam shows its phishhook.com then click the discussions link and general discussion. Its a great place to start and my favorite boards to chill on.
