try this
take your grains and put them on a screen
then take the screen and put it over a fan
like this(instead of racks you will have grains on the screen)


thats the way i do it and i have no problems with wet grain
i turn the fan on low and check it every 15-20 min
they are usually dry in about an hour

We have the same fan.And we are using it for the same thing.creepy.

I had them in the screen, over the sink...with the fan blowing down on them (sitting on the counter) on low... since you have this fan you know how hard it blows, what do you put your at? im doing 7 quarts at a time and can lay the screen on it like you said but im sure it will make a huge mess dripping water all over my fan??

Yeah 6t/agar = GOD

I take 40lbs dry Bird Basics wbs and wash
then put in two big pots on the stove
heat the water stirring every little bit.
turn stove off/sometimes I add a pot of coffee if I feel like it
periodically throughout the day I turn the heat back on to keep the water warm
After 24 hrs
I bring to a rolling boil for 5-10-15 min stirring
I have a huge 21 inch spoon for this I got at a restaurant store for 4$
I have a 4x4 old window screen outside that I put on some 4x4 posts. 
carry seed outside and dump a pot on it
use spoons, like mash potato serving spoons and flop the birdseed around for like 10 minutes
It will steam off all the extra water.
bag it up and Pc all the wbs at once in 9 filter patch bags in the 941AA sterilizer, One heavy son of a bitch

Hoards of spawn with less time.

dont get me wrong I have about 15 big failures over the years getting this method down pat.  Its a spin off of user Scatmanrav but he mixes his grains which I am sure works better.

40lbs all at once? hm. I killed my 20 lb bag already...i was wondering how many jars i can make out of a 20 lb, i made 21 total, 7 i dumped and redid so... 40lbs is like 40 quarts then right?

strain your seeds good so no water drips from them
then place the screen on top of the fan just like i have in the pic
and put it on 1
yea is is kinda creepy,but great minds think alike:lol:
try it with just a quart jar or 2 and see how it works for ya
i usually do 8-10 quarts at a time like this

Ill do it that way tmrw then. Ill strain them with fan on them like i have been, then once they arent drippy i will lay them directly onto it and let them dry so its quicker.

Should they look wet at all?Or dry almost completely

mine feel almost completely dry to the touch
after i PC them the are a lil moist
but there all fine

There are many different approaches to WBS.  Some soak, some simmer, some soak and simmer.  WBS is not rocket science guys and gals.  How we get to that "magical" moisture content may be slightly different from one tek to another, but the end result is the same......  Here is just another version of how we get from point A to point B  https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/9577201/an/0/page/0

I dont know how many qts that would make.  You could figure it by weight.  half a jar is about 1 qt when its dry.  get the weight of a half jar.  then divide that number by 40 lbs.  then take some more off when you wash them youll lose some sunflower seeds and the weight of all the dust and dirt you wash off.

I dont measure that way.
I make a bunch.  put 13-14 cups in each bag.  after I fill 9 bags which is all the 941 will hold crammed full I throw the rest in the yard.  It might be another 3-4 qts but I am not gonna dirty up jars and do a full run for a few extra qts that I am gonna have to wash later.  Nope not gonna do it.

nice let me know how it works
be sure to mix the grains every now and then
it will help them dry faster

i just did some grains like that today
i have 3 bags of wbs in the pc now
each bag has 4 quarts in them

I just do mine the way I do because I am doing about 10x as much at once.  Also I am gonna have to re-vamp my method at some point because it is a bastard to do it anywhere but outside.  Lately its been too cold.  When its uber cold outside it cools the grain down too fast and I end up steaming it off and letting it sit out overnight or something.

Im not sure but... i might have let them dry too long.They were in a strainer in the sink with a fan blowing on them from 12-4:30...and have been on the fan since then...i just took them off and started the PC at 7. They look pretty dry, deff dryer than my last batch... i just took the others out of the PC and they look kinda damp but i would say deff not too wet.Im gettin anxious now...one more run of the PC and all my jars are locked n loaded.Innoculating half tonight.

Grains dont just "bust" while being soaked, you have to be looking at the corn chunks.not all WBS has that in it

also if there are a little dry you can add more lc as it wont get wet spot.  You can always turn your jars as well if there is any pooling so the inoculant is more evenly distributed

im not using LC, i am using spores.Just knocked up 14 of them, i poked through the tyvek, then spun the lid so the holes didnt line up, and tightened it again.Think thats fine?I dont have mycopore tape or anything and didnt wanna take the lids the whole way off in my makeshift glovebox
