Newbie with some questions...

Remember, I?m a newbie... I am planning on trying to grow some from some cow pie after injecting them with some spores I have put in a syringe. I already taken home 3 piles of cow shit that I know have been producing. However, after reading more about this I realized that I watered 2 of them too much (I watered them about once a day when I read it should be more like 3-4 days). Therefore I think these pies may already be "dead" (since they haven?t produced anything for about a week while the other one I didn?t water as much has been producing almost everyday). Heres a pic of the one I haven?t been watering as much producing only 1 cap today...
Now to my questions... 1) Do you think the 2 pieces of cow poop I mentioned above are useless? Or could they still work if I injected them? 2) Would any piece of cow poop work? 3) How much should I really water it? Would watering it with water that I let some shrooms sit in for a few minutes help any? 4) What else could I do to help??? 5) Links to documents regarding this???? Now regarding document of OutDoor Cultivation ... "Soak your dung at least 2 to 4 hours in a large container. When done soaking wring out the crumbled up dung to the point where it is moist; but not soaking wet. " Q- How would I "wring out" the water. Anything and everything would help since this is my first time actually trying to inject a cow pie.

I'm not experienced enough to tell what strain those are(I have a guess but I wont make myself possibly look like an ass and guess) Anyway, you should make some prints of those as soon as possible. The one in the pic looks like its perfect for a nice print. I dont know any links, but I'm sure someone reading this who knows a few good Print Making Teks that would post a link incase this guy doesnt know(hint, hint). I'll try and answer your questions as best as possible. 1. Not exactly. You can try it, it never hurts to try. Read up on it and see if you can get as close to the optimal growing conditions for your situation as best you can. You may just need to let the 2 over-waterd patties to dry out a little before they can produce again. 2. Don't really know the answer.. But, I'd imagine not all cow patties would work. Especially ones that may be contaminated with a bacteria, mold, etc. 3. I'd imagine you want the cow patties moist, not completely wet. 4. Read up on this. Someone more experienced in outdoor cultivation should answer this one(and correct me on any other questions i may have gotten wrong). 5. See above As for the wringing out of the dung, you could use either your barehands or wear rubber gloves. It's up to you. Make sure your hands are clean!

I just got done reading the link you posted. That seems to be a very good tek for outdoor cultivation. You should follow it as closely as possible. I think it will be the tek I will use, since I plan on growing outdoors.

You're going to inject spores into a pie that has already been colonized and produced? Why? Even if the spores germinated, they'd come into competition with the already established network... My advice... get new pies... by new I mean not colonized or contaminated... not age at all... in fact, try not to get fresh ones fresh from natures own.
Anyway, my question is... if your such a noob, why not try the tried and true pf tek?

Thanks "TheShroomHermit". Thats the clarification I needed. As I said the other 2 pies had stopped producing, but I guess I will go out and get some new fresh ones to try this on. Would any cow shit out in the field be a good candidate for this??? Or should I look for ones that are turning white and what not...
