Exactly why I'm confused by those trying to explain it to me.
I noted my lack of research so others would have a sense of where I'm coming from, nothing more.
These were merely sleepy time thoughts.

My personal belief of 2012 is:
Just another year.

However, I do agree with much of what you stated.
I do believe humans are heading somewhere, but to pin an entire shift on 2012, well, that I doubt.

Scientifically its where the earth will reach the center of the milkyway galaxy. If you know anything about space.. Everything has iron or gas. Its a giant magnet field. Our planet has alot of iron, and gas. But it is said that the planet will change position. The poles will "switch". The north pole will be the south in other words. Heres the thing, No one knows what will happen.

Prophocey wise... ppl are scared because some say its doomsday. But the fact is god created the earth in 7 days. He'll destroy it in 3. lol kidding about the last part. Making sure ur paying attention. ppl before christ.. that predicted the future were known as oracles. They predicted this happening. There is other great minds in history.. also.. like einstein. Well the thing is these oracles could of predicted the world turning over. But then they believed the world was flat.

I recently watched the lost book of nostradamus. Google it. He was a french  foresee-er. He made many valid predictions. He also made a book that was lost until now.. that illustrates the end of the world. It shows.. the symbol for when our planet reachs divine enlightenment ( i believe its called) which is the center of our galaxy, it also illstrates this as doomsday for which the bible speaks about. The problem with the bible is they think the writer of revelations was speaking of a antichrist during the writers time which was 126 a.d. I believe. Not during ours.

There are bad things happening alot recently.. but all through history things like this have happened. Every generation thinks the world will end. Its simple we dont know.
No one can tell you they know for sure except god.
Most predictions point to this date... but once this date passes... and we are all here what will the next one be?
There is no anti-christ, this is the delay.. to the doomsday theory. I dont care how evil you think osama bin laden is.. he isnt the anti christ. I think hes a pussy compared to the anti christ. Would the Devil send a man with bad kidneys to fight the war  vs good? Your talking a mix of saddam and osama together thats absolute evil. Saddam killed his own ppl. Osama kills westerners.


Alls we can do is prepare ourselves. Take care of the planet we were blessed with. Things have gone in a bad way for too long. The things that go on today like global warming, running out of natural resources.  A product of the industrial age. Man kind has lasted of thousands of years without a problem, til man started playing god or attempting too.

The earth will replenish itself it always does.
but incase we as a human race fight eachother... it will be our last fight..

Based on scanty Wikipedia reading it seems that the earth will have rotated in a sufficient position to cause an alignment between Earth, the Sun, and the galactic center.  Naturally this is just from our own perspective, though.

The source quoted in the article is Jenkins, John M. (1998). Maya Cosmogenesis 2012, if you want further verification.

Either way I don't take too much stock in any astronomical apocalypse occurring then; if anything the revolution would be more terrestrial and/or psychological.

My opinion is that it doesnt matter what happens. Since i discovered this whole world of information in middle school, it's changed my entire being. I feel like ive been preparing myself for these times, and no matter what happens i will be ready. Be it death or otherwise. The significance of this date has made me a better person and opened my eyes to a realm of possibilities i would have otherwise never experienced. So now i try to show people what ive experienced so that they may share whatever good they get out of it.

I just wonder about why these old civilizations like mayans, sumerians, and such decided to build everlasting monuments pointing to a special moment in time. Moment in time that can only be measured by intense observation of nature, the orbits of earth and all the astrological explanations, that "all translated" culminate in december 21 of 2012.

The message post posted to humanity in that date, in all of these ancient monuments and inscriptions, about how human beings should turn themselves to a more natural way of living, and all alerts about the earth coming to "it's own destruction" because of not living by these natural ways just get me open mouth thinking about the actual case of humanity and it's relation with earth, nature. How humanity is indeed out of coordination with the earth nature. Lost in a period of time! (error of time)

Everything, atleast involving humans, is growing exponentially. Everything. Population, knowledge, technology, culture, polution, waste, awareness, etc, etc, etc.

To some 2012 is the next step in human evolution. When we adopt a oneness type cosnciousness and live in harmony. Others will even say that our "garbage" DNA will reactivate and we will physically evolve as well.

This is all speculation though. The world seems to be on the brink of chaos, but at the same time seems to be heading toward something spectacular. 2012 is of spiritual significance to some.

Heres my opinion. Long ago us humans became very intellectually dominant, but not without a price. We started to explore our logic and intellectual capabilities and disregarded the heart aspect of ourselvs. We chose intellect over compassion. We chose science over spirituality. We chose the mind over the heart.

So now we have excelled greatly and have created great technology, but something is missing. We seem to have hit a brick wall and the world seems to be slowly falling a part. Something is missing and that is what we left behind. The heart, the spirit, and the soul. Inorder to move on to the next step in our advancement, we must reawaken the human spirit.

It is my theory that maybe in 2012 we will rekindle our hearts, our emotion and our compassion. If this does not happen than we will destroy ourselvs, but it seems to be happening as we reject primitive religions and claim our rightful places in the cosmos as one and equal.

The subject line should actually read December 21, 2012 if we are going to talk about this. The significance of that date has been wildly speculated for centuries now. There are the "End Of Days" people, then there are the "Consciousness Shifting" ones. I truly do not think that anyone has it right completely, but this is just my opinion. Here is a little background on what I know about December 21, 2012.

On December 21, 2012 the Mesoamerican long count calendar ends. On December 21, the end of the 13 Baktuns cycle. What happens after this? No one really knows, but there is a lot of theories out there if you want to research it yourself. Most notably, the "Shift In Consciousness".

Now also on December 21, 2012 we also have an astrological occurrence. It is literally the end of an age. On this winter solstice, we move from The Piscean Age into The Age of Aquarius(The Aquarian age) What is the significance of it? Well basically the theory reads as "There is an expectation that the Aquarian age will usher in a period of group consciousness." There is not enough true hard science behind this though to give it full merit.

Then we have the Geophysical and cosmological occurrence. On this same date. As already stated by an earlier post, there will be a shift in our poles. According to NASA though, it's not going to do anything truly significant to our planet.

These are all facts and occurrences that will take place in 2012. Now this is where the theories run dry for me. Man has known for a long time now the power of the human mind. In our lifetimes we wont even use a 1/4 of our brains capacity. That being said, why does a specific date have the power to shift our consciousness? What is going to happen, are little Grey aliens going to come down from outer space and hold a gun to our heads and tell us it is time for us to think more? We have had the ability to shift our consciousness for a long time now. Why have we not? Look at the entire human race for a moment. Show me one great thing that we have done as a race without some ulterior motivation. We are inherently lazy when it comes to change unless it is for selfish reasons. Especially when it comes to thinking. All I see happening in the year of 2012 is this. Nothing of true significance for the human race unless we choose to let it........ It's just another Y2K event to me so far people.

We could shift our consciousness, but no one knows how. If we knew how, it would have been done already. This isnt something you can study, this isnt something that can be tought, this isnt something easily achievable. How am I suppost to globally shift the entire consciousness of the human race?

How can I realize something that I cant understand? Is it my fault because I simply dont understand? Is understanding the mysteries to life a choice? Some people meditate for years and dont realize anything significant. Some people spend a life time searching for truth, but fail because they looked in the wrong places and just didnt understand. Is that their fault? How could they understand what they dont even know to exist? In my opinion it is not even possible without some sort of divine intervention.
