Incorrect.  It depends on how fast it happens.  It could happen slowly, over a period of months, in which case we will be ok.  But if the mantle slips suddenly and it happens in the space of hours or days, we are toast...I mean everying on earth will die. These pole shifts have happened in the past, they have proven this.

There is no proof either a Pole Shirt, or magnetic reversal will happen.  The evidence for a magnetic reversal is that the earth's magnetic field is almost non existent at this time, its strength decreasing for the lsst 100 years at least.  So it could reverse, making north south and south north.  But this does not effect the continents at all.

The Mayan calendar does not end in 2012, it is the end of a cycle.  They start counting once again from Day 1, on December 22, 2012

Thanks for your acknowledgment Kickle, I've posted that in many a 2012 thread but it seems like no one hears it.

The Mayans may have been the only culture to point to 2012 but nearly all ancient cultures payed close attention to astronomy for important reasons other than superstition or time keeping.

They also payed close attention to Sunrise and Sunset for the same important reasons.
