My encounter with Nessie
    #9784444 -

Many years ago I was hiking in the Desolation Wilderness area south of Lake Tahoe. (Highly recommended if you like truly remote hiking and near-pristine wilderness.) I was a few hundred feet above Grass Lake when I saw a creature moving across the lake. It was not a trick of light, shadow and wind. It looked to be about 6 foot long, was moving about 3-4 mph and left a wake. (Wilder-Nessie?) I was highly puzzled until I got a much closer look. What do you think it was?

A buffalo?

Or, perhaps, a large woman with similar appearance. :naughty:

So far, your guess is the closest.

BTW, the water temp was about 48F and at an altitude of 8500 feet.

Let's narrow it down then.

Was it Icelander in the nude? :inlove2:

I used LSD my first three times in South Lake Tahoe; even while high on acid, not even I saw Nessie....

Actually it turned out to be a beaver. The trailing tail made it look much longer. Funny how so many mysteries quickly disappear when examined up close.

Naturally, those for whom this thread is intended will entirely miss the point.
