My first encounter with a crazy man!
    #19463597 -

Drunk/drugged men or women don't count. :nono:

Was watching some tennis when I heard heavy footsteps around the house. Then someone ran onto the porch and pounded on the door glass so hard I thought it might break!

I grabbed a tennis racquet and opened the door cautiously. It was my middle-aged neighbor, Dallas. He was yelling something about how we had to protect ourselves from the power company. He was frantic and hyped to the max. He made no attempt to enter, but kept shouting nonsense. Then he asked me if I wanted to help him pry the power meter open. I said no. With a final exclamation he screamed "TURN OFF YOUR POWER NOW OR THEY WILL GET YOU!" And then he ran down the street.

Every time I previously talked to Dallas, he was thoughtful and rational, but last year he been hauled in for psychiatric evaluation three times.

Now there are three cop cars out front searching for him. I am guessing he went from house to house.

Just WOW!

I lost a neighbor, Gibson, to the power company a few years back. He was Japanese and used to make adirondack chairs.
anyway the whole family was shocked.

I just hope it does not happen to me

Crazy man's mother came over this morning to apologize. Said he was bipolar, but that they could not afford the medication. I asked if he was dangerous and she reassuringly told me that she did not know. I responded that I held no ill will against him/them, but if he tried to come in our house or made any threatening actions that I would hurt him. She said stoically "You do what you have to do."

Wonderful...

Get a stun gun.  You can drop him without killing the bugger and getting yourself in jail.

It might be fun to stun him when he is in a 'normal' frame of mind - just for practice! :hehehe:

I think you should parade around the bad parts of town with a few rackets in your gym bag to practice for the neighbor.

Statistically, I wonder how many men named Dallas end up having a psychotic episode amidst their midlife crisis. :ruggedwink:

Everything is better than it was the last time.  I'm good.

If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care.

It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence.

I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too.  If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

Tennis racquets would be better outside.  Racketball rackets inside.  Ping pong paddles for hand to hand combat.
