First Alberta, then Ontario. BC next?
    #978285 - 10/20/02 09:57 PM (22 years, 4 months ago)

Hydro privatization in a bad deal.

In Alberta and Ontario, the electricity companies were literally taken away from the people who own them, and given over to a party of profiteers.

It's the sort of thing that happens to a people who have lost a war.

Now, BC's new extreme right wing government is flirting with this whore of an idea. It's not to late. Nothing's happened yet. BC's public power is still the third lowest rate in NORTH AMERICA.

There's a lot of people on this website from BC and Ontario. At least sign the petitions.

This is what happens when lefty liberals get into power.

"DON'T YOU KNOW IT'S FOR THE COMMON GOOD"

HAHAHAHAAHHAHAHHAHAHAA!

Keep voting for liberals and this is how things will be.

Luvdem...what are you talking about? I assume that Carbon Hoots is referring to the privatization of Enmax. Like many, You are far too quick to assume that everything is the Libbies fault, when in reality it's the exact opposite. But let me add to this that I have no problem with the privatization of Enmax, we are actually paying less now, than we were before...AND we get sent rebate checks. I don't know what the implications would be in B.C., but in Alberta it's a good thing. (And just as a side note...I HATE Jean Cretien and his damn Liberals)

You're an idiot.
The left is opposed to privatization. It's right wing politicians that are for privatizing everything from power, to education, to hospitals.

Right wing parties are all in power in BC, Ontario, and especially Alberta.

Privatization is when the government sells off public programs to private companies, you know... moving AWAY from socialism?

luvdem, for someone who spends so much time talking about politics, I figured you'd at least know the difference between left and right.

Privatizing electric companies here in California was a disaster....

Many many companies went out of business due to a 1300% raise in electricity bills. Resturants which used to pay $800 a month were getting $13,000 monthly bills, internet companies with few employees but which take massive amounts of energy to run simply shut down or paid the $30,000 montly bill...

Their were lots of things that made the energy crisis in California but it all started with privatization of the industry.

So I'll assume from now on that whenever you use a term like "Libbies" then you are critisizing all political parties?

Pretty much...however libbie describes the more useless portion of the political realm (ie: the sensative elite, PC crowd, pussified males..etc....John Mckain)

as a side note there are more than two parties out there (ie" libertarians)....
