Hey, no need to apologize. We both just learned something, right?

yea, I should have known it was sensationalist garbage anyway if I seen it on global. I've heard lots of examples of junk reporting from them lately to further the owner's personal agenda. So I'll just have to stick to hating on NAFTA for article 11 ie the Ethel corp scandal.

that said though the US can buy the oil on the market and NAFTA protects the US to have equal market rights to it as Canadians. I still don't think invasion is likely since looking at the Iraq war the US prefers the legitimacy of trading for oil. In Canada they already have this, in fact to the maximum extent that the market allows. So unless they want it for free there's no reason to invade because they are already here.

Saskatchewan produces vast quantities of potash (a valuable soil additive) and uranium. Oil and natural gas are also a major export, second only to Alberta. Saskatchewan has many untapped oil resources (such as oil shales) that could be viable if the infrastructure was in place to mine them.

Alberta collects, refines and exports vast quantities of oil and natural gas. The oil sand projects near lake Athabasca contain a significant portion of the total world oil reserves.

Saskatchewan and Alberta are also both flat flat flat flat prairie provinces with no experience defending against a foreign army.

So how long do you think it will be until the US annexes these two EXTREMELY energy rich provinces of Canada?

How long do you think before Alberta buys the U.S. with it's oil money?

as somewhat of an energy buff I'd say the value of a lot of Alberta/Saskatchewan's oil is inflated since it's all in crappy forms like Shale and Tar sand that require huge investment and labor to refine. Frankly it is my opinion that the world is not far away from an explosion in actual bio-diesel that runs off of waste systems. Like myco-diesel and algae bio-diesel. To be frank a lot of drilling and shale projects are a minimum 4-10 year wait before new oil will come from them I'd bet with less investment these could be realistic oil alternatives for the US in a shorter time frame.

Canoodlia is the US's biggest trade partner.  They're practically one country already.  You juvenile delinquents must really be high if you think spreading your euphoria on a drug forum is going to change anything.

The problem is that NAFTA is an incredibly complicated legal agreement.

Very few people understand it because it is so long and complicated. So we rely on internet articles or news media to give us a run down on what it means.

Well, it is too complicated for that. So unless you spend several months reading and discussing the wording of NAFTA with people who do understand it, you are pretty much in the dark about it.
