huh?

Someone who thinks they are insane is not insane.

That's the catch. Catch-22.

Insanity is walking around a room without doors or windows Smoking an ounce of crack perpetually while trying to be something you're not blindfolded with a a comppund fracture in your right leg while forgetting to pay your dealer.

As long as you can feel the blindfold, you are not too far gone.

Also, some people wear blindfolds for other reasons, like going to sleep.

is the concept of unmerited favor insane?

Unmerited, you mean no selfish motives whatsoever, yes?

Whether or not selfishness is involved.

Can life be unfair?

Speaking of unmerited favor, what about beauty being in the eye of the beholder? I'm told there is no accounting for taste.

If only tangible things can be called rational, are intangible things insane?

Thanks for that RGV, in particular

Quote:
suppleness of mind and instability are not always distinguishable, so a key to mental health or sanity, can appear as a symptom of insanity, and the poetry of dreams can be converted to the curses of diagnosis.

in this way we live in a mad world. we have to get used to it.

You always provide an interesting perspective.

The words of the foolish and the words of the wise, aren't far apart in discordian eyes...

Some excerpts from an Interview with Malaclypse the Younger by THE GREATER METROPOLITAN YORBA LINDA HERALD-NEWS-SUN-TRIBUNE-JOURNAL-DISPATCH-POST AND SAN FRANCISCO DISCORDIAN SOCIETY CABAL BULLETIN AND INTERGALACTIC REPORT & POPE POOP

=================================
GREATER POOP: Are you really serious or what?
MAL-2: Sometimes I take humor seriously. Sometimes I take seriousness humorously. Either way it is irrelevant.

GP: Maybe you are just crazy.
M2: Indeed! But do not reject these teaching as false because I am crazy. The reason that I am crazy is because they are true.

GP: Is Eris true?
M2: Everything is true.
GP: Even false things?
M2: Even false things are true.
GP: How can that be?
M2: I don't know man, I didn't do it.

GP: Why do you deal with so many negatives?
M2: To dissolve them.
GP: Will you develop that point?
M2: No.

GP: Is there an essential meaning behind POEE?
M2: There is a Zen Story about a student who asked a Master to explain the meaning of Buddhism. The Master's reply was "Three pounds of flax."
GP: Is that the answer to my question?
M2: No, of course not. That is just illustrative. The answer to your question is FIVE TONS OF FLAX!

Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities - the political, the religious, the educational authorities - who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing - forming in our minds - their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable open-mindedness, chaotic, confused vulnerability to inform yourself.

For me, grace represents the ever-growing process, which is life, not a tear in my ability to think straight.

Is there no favor, no advantage, which lends itself to the ongoing expression of nature?

If so, how can anything "unfair" be attributed to cause and effect?

I reckon nearly every person in the world wishes they could work 38 hours a week. Something to think about
