Grey/Black in my jars?
    #954063 -

I got 4 1/2 pint PR's in my incu right now. It has helathy mycelin growing all abouts. It also has greyish/blackish shit growing aswell. The growth is Xtreamly fast. Not just the grey/black, the healthy looking mycel aswell.

The seryinge it came from was dence. Very purple, w/ lots of spores all about.

I think I saw a post on this before, about the greshish/blackish being dence spore clumps in the jars, but I can not remember.

Can someone please help me out?

How big is the growth, and how fast is it growing. IF its growing faster than the mycelium and its more grey in color, then I think you got cobweb. That sucks, just seperate those jars, unless all of them have it, then just wait and see, I guess, or throw em in an outdoor patch. Good Luck.

If the grey/black areas are growing then it is not spore clumps. Like dude said, separate those jars.

Could the cobweb be due to "average" contam?
My zebra made the needle from a print, so this was kind of a test batch to see if the needle was spores or spores/contam.
But nothing is really a test batch to poor myco's.
Lost substrate is lost $$$.
So I was wondering if this could have been due to poor care on my part, or the needle itself.

The prints were NOT take in steryle conditions. From what the zebra read, it was a simple process. NOT a process in which being steryle was nessisary.

Maybe I will give my ardvark a shot @ seringe makeing.

Also, if this is cobweb, or any other type of mold. Will it grow side by side the mycel; or eat it all up?

A good idea is to make a jar of honey water.
SUck up an area with no visible contamination and either transfer to more honey or do a test run on a jar.
it should be clean.

It may have been my post on the spore clumps. I had some huge chunks of spores make a black spot on one of my cakes with a light gray ring around them. I posted this in the cult and contam forum cause it tripped me out so much. The cakes came out normal. The gray did not grow the spots never grew. What you have is different.
