I'm a long-time reader but a first-time poster, so hi all. I'm looking for a cheap(ish?) absinthe for a friend, and I thought this might be the right place to find some info. Quality is of little concern; neither of us are absinthe connoisseurs, but a good drink would be nice. I live in the US, so I think there may be some regulations as to what I can buy (thujone content and all that). Thanks, and I'm glad to be part of the community.

There is some called Lucid, that you can get for sure in South Carolina, but in NC you have to buy online. Its about $70/5th at stores, and $55/5th online. It is the nectar of the gods when mixed with Red Bull. My friend brought over a 5th she imported from the UK that was 150 proof. Also $150/5th, lol. Also pretty damn good with redbull...:thumbup:

Besides absinthe, does anyone have any recommendations for a strong but tasty drink? I vaguely recall a liquor from one Nordic country or another (Sweden, maybe?) that was around the same alcohol content as absinthe.

Do you like the taste of black liquorice?  If not, don't waste your money on ansinthe, as it is nothing more that a liquorice flavored liquor...

A quick tidbit of info...black licorice has been scientifically proven to increase the vaginal bloodflow in women. Not the gross, time of teh month bloodflow, but the "jesus christ I'm so horny for some reason and I need your dick now" type of bloodflow.

EDIT: It increases the bloodflow up to 400%. :thumbup:
