Forget the thujone.  Its nice high priced alcohol, think of it as you would a high priced scotch or tequila - its a drink of a connoisseur.

from the wiki:
The principal botanicals are grande wormwood, green anise, florence fennel, petite wormwood (Artemisia pontica or Roman wormwood), hyssop, melissa, star anise, angelica, sweet flag, dittany, coriander, veronica, juniper, and nutmeg.

its a very earthy taste to it. more like youre drinking nature. if that makes any sense. hehe.. tough to describe.

If you have to mix your liquor to stomach it then you are drinking crap, which is ok if you want a cheap buzz but you dont want to throw down bank on a bottle just to hide its taste with juices and sodas.

kubler should be a little cheaper. you should really only be looking at $70. i wouldnt spend more unless youre sure what youre getting is a solid product.

EDIT: i was never really a fan of mixed drinks. and not just with absinthe. ill take it like it is 99% of the time.

if you dont know if youll like the taste of absinthe and there is no bar close by to try it grab a bottle of Chartreuse. its kinda similar to absinthe and a lot cheaper.
