and yet we still talk of this thing as whole, impartial, integrating, stabilizing, hindus say all things shine through with permanence, while buddhists say nothing is of the essence but the essence, some things are yet permanent such as self arisen sound and light, nirvana is not without celestial cognizance.

Nirvana is nothing, exinction

This is an incorrect interpretation of the teaching.  I reference the Aggi Vacchagotta Sutra.  A person asks the Buddha where a person goes, or what happens to them after death, or parinirvana.  He says that the question does not make sense.  He used an analogy, asking "what direction does a fire go after being extinguished?", which of course has no answer.

To say nirvana is extinction is wrong, because the Buddha says that it is not existence, non-existence, both existence and non-existence, nor neither existence nor non-existence.  That pretty much wipes out any way the human mind can comprehend it.  If you think you know what it is, then you don't.  Much like the Tao that can't be named, etc.  Conceptions are what keep you from it.

The fire simply does not exist any longer when it goes out, but fire is just a concept.  The essence, that which makes up the fire, is still around...permanently.
