I've only seen salaried workers charged for making false statements, which is fairly easy to do in this kind of situation.  No actual fraud charges

And can't ACORN refuse to accept obviously fraudulent ones?

actually in one of the cases a member of the election board
was actually penalized because of overlooked fraudulent
registrations, the defense that ACORN used was that they arent
capable of determining how many are fraudulent

so they dump the boxes on the state to deal with instead of
aiding the state in their work since they're such a 'good'
charitable organization

Yeah. Voter fraud is just a distraction.

Quote:
U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy issued a scathing order Wednesday lambasting the Montana Republican Party for challenging the registrations of thousands of Montana voters, but stopped short of an actual ruling in the case.

In his 19-page order, Molloy denied a temporary restraining order to the Montana Democratic Party, which sought to stop thousands of GOP-led voter challenges from moving forward. Molloy wrote that Secretary of State Brad Johnson “astutely” asked counties not to process the Republicans' voter challenges, which effectively alleviated a crisis that would have required a restraining order.

Quote:
“The timing of these challenges is so transparent that it defies common sense to believe the purpose is anything but political chicanery,” Molloy wrote

one was convicted in seattle along with the people he was
supposed to supervise the workers I guess you'll try writing
off fraudulent information as not being fraud

Thank you Google News search.

Also, that first link is in a local election where the winner will likely win by less than a hundred votes, and where the cards are of real names, but with falsified information, meaning that it's both voter fraud AND election fraud.  So it actually matters, unlike this ACORN stuff.

The "election board" is not governed by ACORN.

where have I ever made the claim, my statement was not even close to implying that it was governed by ACORN

Voter registration drive operators know that they have to turn in EVERYTHING they receive. It isn't their job to determine whether something is fraudulent or not.

they dont even ask if people like Fruito Boy Crispilla are
citizens or for proof of citizenship, they've registerd over 1
million voters but maybe half are legit from what I'm reading,
again, it's all numbers for them

I find it sad that you cant admit that ACORN is not as great
as you'd like to believe, voter fraud happens, both parties
pull some shit every year that disenfranchises voters or
something, then these community groups step in with the
attitude of 'do what ever it takes' to register more voters,
many of whom are ineligible and still the register them to
make their quota

One of 400 voter registrars made a scheme to make money. There was no evidence that anyone actually planned to vote with those fake voter registrations, not like it would have even been POSSIBLE to vote with them. Furthermore, ACORN COMPLETELY cooperated with the prosecution of the Seattle case.

what was that... they were trying to make the numbers in order to get the money? and of course ACORN cooperated, if they didnt they'd lose a lot more than just a couple of registrars, it's typical to distance yourself from shenanigans when your bread and butter is about to be yanked, I suppose all these arrests are just stunts like the ones in Nv and Oh.

Acorn is pretty great. It's been the most successful voter registration drive. Where are you reading that only half are legit? So far, it's about 13,000 out of that 1.3 million.

really?

Quote:
In 2006, ACORN also committed what Washington Secretary of State Sam Reed called the "worse case of election fraud" in the state's history.

In the case, ACORN submitted just over 1,800 new voter registration forms, and all but six of the 1,800 names were fake.

More recently, 27,000 registrations handled by the group from January to July 2008 "went into limbo because they were incomplete, inaccurate, or fraudulent," said James Terry, chief public advocate at the Consumers Rights League.

I think that he's looking for a one year total for the previous year, or at least some kind of estimate, so that we can see how widespread or localized this phenomenon is.  We're not impervious to the truth
