Audio recording programs to record music
    #9021360 -

I just purchased a microphone for like $35 so i could put some songs on my computer so i won't forget them.

Anyone know of a good cheap/free recording program to do this?  I just downloaded Audio notes and it is pretty cool but they want $20 to record anything longer then 60 seconds.

Audacity is freeware and works pretty good, from what I've read.

i suggest getting 'cool edit pro' from thepiratebay.org. its simple, but can do complex things.. i use it for most of my sample editing as well as audacity (which is free, but its limited). the torrent with the most seeds for CEP is the one i got and it has worked very well

Limewire has a torrent option but i still need to find the files.  Where can i got to find the torrent files?

I just got acid pro 6.0 from limewire.  I chose the one that was about 100mb and 22 people already had it.  So i figure if they already have it and their computer still works........

I can't think of anything better than Audacity to start on.

QFT.

I've recorded hours of acoustic music on Audacity. Easy to learn interface, easy to import and export, big community for answering whatever questions you have about it. Great program.

Kontakt 3 is supposed to be a really great sequencer.
If your a college student you can find sites that have it way cheaper.

I am using acid now.  It sure has a lot to it, but it is not hard to learn.  I like the options. Records nice and clean with good playback.  And with the samples they provide i can make my own techno mixes. I could sit here for hours.  This program rocks. Thanks X2

no problem..i used that to mix my stuff for years. Though its generally a loop based program it worked great for me and was easy to pick up. Ive since moved on to protools/logic
