eDonkey baby!! It has full zipped albums as well as 1GB or more compiled packs of albums from each artist. It's not so great with individual songs though. Best when used in conjunction with edonkey link forums such as those found at shareconnector.com.

I use Bearshare for individual music files but if i want to download full albums REAL fast (plus movies, appz etc.) i use mIRC, You think I'm kidding? Ever heard of  packetnews.com ? Great site, kind of hard to get around the commands etc. but when you do, its great for getting stuff, if you want to try this but find it troubling just PM me and I'll be happy to sort you out  :thumbup:

Bittorrent.

I've been downloading a lot of full albums, or full collections lately.

Pretty easy to use once you get used to it.

I'm pretty partial to Limewire because it can detect a corruption in the file before you finish downloading it....unlike Kazaa which has all those songs that give that annoying 'screech' halfway through the song.

From what I understand, Morpheus is back in a big way as well.

kazaa because its idiot proof and this idiot doesnt understand bit torent or any of those other fancy program type things. but kazaa sucks, fucks with your computer lots. and when you remove its spyware tehy say shit about deleting sponsors and make you reinstall it. fucking pricks.

I used Kazaa until it got fucked up and filled with spyware, so I switched to Ares but because I'm behind a firewall it didn't work at all. So then I tried limewire for my PC like I had on my mac but it sucks at organizing files so it became annoying to fix filenames and such. Ares finally realeased a new version tthast passes through firewalls like limewire and kazaa do, but the problem is that it still uses up all your internet connection. So no other peolple can surf the internet, check e-mails, or do any internet related stuff on any computer tied to the same network as the computer running Ares. So know I use windows media player to search engine, which searches for free copies of songs you search for that are avaliable on the internet on random sites and such, but it is impossible to get studio versions of not well-known songs and it is limited entirely to what is free songs are avaliable on the internet from people uploading them, which kind of sucks. It still is best thing I've had since before Kazaa got ruined, but I'd like to get my hands on kazaa-lite. Can anyone send a link to a place to download it (I heard they took it off download.com), a zipped file, or even an .exe?

Soulseek is it. Good sharing interface, plenty of people with good stuff. Not nearly as many people as on Kazaa, but it's quality not quantity.

A high amount of people have stuff in 192 or higher, and always organized by album in folders. So you just hit 'download folder' instead of having to organize it yourself.

The program is unlike all the others people have been talking about. It doesn't have a search engine built in, you have find Torrent files.

suprnova.org is a good place to start, but there are many many others

What you do, is find a .torrent file of whatever you want to download.

Say you go to www.suprnova.org and find a movie you want to download.

You'll download a very small torrent file.

You then open bit torrent, and it should have a little browse window pop up... then you just find the file you downloaded.

The speeds at the start are really slow, but they'll speed up over time.

how do you not find music on soulseek? wish list it...I've only rarely had problems finding music - if its not there immediately, it'll come up on the wishlist in a few days at the most...

I saw this ... I usually used soulseek to find albums/shows/everything i couldn't find elsewhere, but if a friend told me about one or two songs I'd probably use bearshare to get them.

Not a big deal though ... because soulseek is way better than any other p2p client.

I got something like 3 months' continuous play off Limewire, for the ridiculously cheap one-off sum of $20. This includes rarities and film clips.
