Good sites to download music

I would like to download some music to my new CD burner.
I am most interested in Classic Rock (Grateful Dead would be great).

Does anyone know of any good web sites?

Ripple, have you tried the Direct Connect shroomery hub? I have a few dead mp3s and share them there when I'm at home, and I'm sure there are lots of other people besides me with dead songs on the hub.

Kazaa works great, except it has spyware. If you want the version with no spyware go to www.kazaalite.com. Direct connect has a lot of music, but if you have nothing to share to start with you cant get in any of the good hubs. Try your luck on winmx too @ www.winmx.com, its alright. Napster was king, and nothing has even come close to beating it as of yet.

I have tons of Dead music on CD but I wouldn't know how to share it. I would love to be able to though.

To share your music you would have to rip the cd to mp3, preferably at 192kbps, put in a file, and then select to share that file.

Here, this should explain. :smile: Its basically a file sharing program that you download and run on your computer. It connects to a server, which other people from the shroomery connect to, and you can browse other people's files, let them browse yours, or search. You can limit where people have access to if you're worried about any sensitive information on your computer. There's even a little chat, although its usually pretty dead... :grin:

It's pretty simple. Go to the site in the post about DC, download it, install it, and then click on the star icon at the top - which like your personal address book. You enter in the address for the Hub, which is written down in that post.
