Scooby Snack mushroom bust on Mt. Elphie!
    #898096 - 09/21/02 08:28 PM (14 years, 7 months ago)

From the Coast Reporter, Sunshine Coast, BC, Canada, 9/22/02:

**I know this guy, seen around town lots of times, about 6', 120 lbs. I picked him up hitchhiking one time. He was mad because welfare was forcing him to go to a meeting on 'How to find a Job'. He said getting up early and hitchiking into town and going to the meeting only made him burn up more energy and need more food which welfare would end up paying for because he didn't plan to get a job, he had an 'alternitive lifestyle'.

'SCOOBY SNACKS' net house arrest J. Seyd

A man who lived in a teepee on Mt. Elphinstone while espousing an alternative philosophy of life was sentanced to house arest in Sechelt provincial court Tuesday for possessing psychedelic "herbal Ecstacy" for the purpose of trafficking.
Charles David Scott, 30, was nabbed a year ago by police with 43 capsules of "herbal Escatsy"-known as "Scooby Snacks"-which consist of ground up psycheldelic mushrooms along with herbal ingredients like ging seng and bee pollen.
Police stopped a car with Alberta license plates after observing it driving erratically in Sechelt on Sept. 18 last year. Scott was a passenger in the car.
After police asked the driver to look in the trunk, they found three bags. In two bags were 339 white pills with a dove stamped on them, later identified as the drug Esctasy. The other bag contained the 'Scooby Snacks'.
As Scott got out of the car, he also pulled a bag of marijuana out of his pocket, telling police it was for his personal use.
Scott's lawyer David Malicki argued that Scott shouldn't be sent to jail, despite a previous drug conviction. Malicki said there was only a small amount of the psychedelic drug psilocybin in the 'Scooby Snacks'-about 56 grams or 2 oz in total. At the time of the offense, Scott had been going through a difficult time and was living in a teepee on Mt. Elphinstone with 'a great number of people who live alternative lifestyles', said Malicki.
Malicki said Scott's previous drug conviction was for growing marijuana for the Compassion Club in Saskatchewan. "A huge amount of marijuana was given away," Malicki added.
Malicki said his client is 'a very deep philosophical, caring person' with a history of volunteerism.
He now lives in Merville on Vancouver Island with his family, where he raises "free-range, non-genetically-modified organically-fed pheasents, pigs, ducks and turkeys".
Judge Dan Moon said he was troubled by the case.
"It was really stupid of you, regardless of your philosiphical outlook", he told Scott. He added he'd been given no evidence of Scott's volunteer work 'except you gave away a lot of marijuana'.
"You shouldn't have been doing this, thats to state the obvious." he concluded.
Scott recieved a 15-month conditional sentance and was placed under house arrest at his farm. He was also fined $1500.

Gee, to bad he still didn't still live in the teepee, he could have been under teepee arrest!

Yet another political/philosophical/religious prisoner
courtesy of your local "well-meaning W.O.D. crusaders".

At least in Holland mushrooms have been
declared safe and their prohibition unnecessary.

"If we don't have a right to act according to our religious
belief to form judgments according to those beliefs about
human conduct and behaviour, then exactly what does the
free exercise of religion mean?
"
--Alan Keyes

When you shroom there is no victim, therefore no crime.

Mushroom prohibition must end.

Considering that I offer FREE tours of this mountain, than a post which would generate some interest in the mountain, does belong here.

It's too bad people have to post negative responses to an interesting, harmless post. If you don't like it....don't read it!

Hey Max, Do you know what these "scooby snacks" are? I saw some guy on Pot-TV dropping a few of them. Are they just cubes packed in capsules or do they really have bee pollen and that sort of inactive crap in them.

I am not implying that you made these "scooby snacks". I just figure that if these things are floating around your neck of the woods you might know a little more about them.

No prob GG...

Hisstudent, I'm not sure on the Scooby Snacks, I'm really not invovled in it but I know of another local guy who makes something that sounds like the same description.....bee pollen, gin seng, other natural additives and of course the main ingredient, dried up mushroom powder. If these are the same snacks, then its Ps. cyanescens mushrooms in it, which are our local favorite.

Interesting to see it on PotTVv. Pot TV of course is run by Marc Emery, another local dude of some fame and I think he does the show from right here in Gibsons. I'm sure they would have been the same snacks.

All this talk of food, I'm getting hungry!
