Dona Anna? I have been looking for that particular coryphantha for a long time. If I get time KGB, I can send you one or four peresks in a couple of weeks. I need to root some cuttings first though. Or would they ship okay as non rooted cuttings? They are delicate, that is for sure.

Yeah CPW,I should have said something, hehe, and Ethno, that would be sweet to have some of those,oh and my Coryphantha has multiple pups that are growing from it,and I all ready cut three off,and they rooted fast. They are about the size of a nickel.

The odd thing is the mammilaria as a rootstock.
Amber - the idea beyond a graft is that we graft a slow growing species to a quicker growing species. Thats why we use columnar cacti as rootstock, because they put out much more growth. But your graft may work anyways, good luck.

That video is AWESOME. The whole process took less than three minutes...that's just badass.
I love all this science project shit that goes down in the Shroomery...

Yeah,I noticed that too felixhigh, but I think she was just doing that as an experiment to see if she can graft, because why else would you graft a Coryphantha to a mammilaria, hehe,no offense Amber.

Easy graft, these are all just to do a presentation on grafting for a community college, they were both easy to cut flat.
Unless you guys have an easier way to graft, or type (considering I'm limited on cacti supply).

Yo Amber,I knew you were just doing it for the experiment, and I can't wait to see if yours actually graft.I've tried it a few times and failed. You should try Lowe's if you want more variety to graft with, they have tons of different types of cacti for real cheap.

yeah after having many of my flat grafts die I stopped messing with them. The ones that did take still dont plump out like impale grafts for me.....
Beside when these grafts are done you can walk away and not fuck with them. The union is is tightly secured in the time it takes to put a pin though them. Try that with flat grafts. Also try keeping a flat graft out of a humididty tent. Sure it may be more work initially but after its done you get more out of it. You also dont have to strain your eyes or work with tweezers lol. I may as well do tissue culturing if I am gonna flat graft seedlings
But if you flat cut method is 100% and they plump right up then please... post a vid

Wallyworld has 96 cent cactus, but they don't sell ones that are good for impale grafts, or clefts, more flat cut, and I keep my flat cuts out of a humidity chamber, there just sitting by a window. Hoping it'll take.

yeah small flat grafts done with 2 week old seedlings onto Pereskiopsis need a humidity dome. I am sure bigger grafts don't need it. But..... Cleft grafts can be secured with a long needle though. Thats where I got the idea for using a pin on Ookla grafts. I wouldn't mind trying some impale grafts onto larger cacti. Maybe even reverse impale grafts. They would be like a cleft graft with more vascular contact.
Amber... If you see a Pilosocereus Azureus snag one up for grafting practice. They grow as fast as Trichocereus and make great stock and they are cheap and can be found at most garden centers. Did I say "and" enough in that sentence? lol But yeah heres a pic of what they look like.... I will gather together some grafting example pics and post them in a few. ok heres the first one I tried.... It looks like this now.... heres another... I cut the spines off that Terscheckii first.
and yes I wound up putting them in smaller pots

You mean golden torch cactus? If so I have one from quite some time ago, what and how exactly do you suggest grafting to it.
