How to track someone down

anybody know of any good ways to track down where a person lives only having their first and last name and the city they live in?

private investigators do this shit all the time, somebody here has to know where to begin.

You need to pay for access to a database, most likely.  That is what the private investigators generally do.  They look in phonebooks and such before they look in the databases, I imagine.
