coir is not in the same class as horsepoo, and it is nothing i would ever consider as a bulk substrate. have fun with your coir shrooms, and their wonder.

I simply stated coir is useless in my experience, in my opinion, in real life. Horse poOpies for the win yo!

Well since no one actually hit the topic on this one I will. I prefer Rye as spawn but you can also use wild bird seed!

coir is useless in mycology IME/IMO/IRL


now 8 months later I generally always have a coir grow going because it preforms so well, and is SO DIRT CHEAP, and fucking does great, right there just below hpoo...

way to bump an old thread to say "I stuck my foot down my mouth out my ass and back in my mouth."

I just wasn't trying it then with the additives I use now, and had a lot of failures, now, it's one of my preferred mediums.

like saying "told you so" to yourself though...

maybe it was bumped to humble me by divine shroomy intervention, or karma, to make me realize what an ASS i was about coir being used as a substrate. At least, that's what I got out of it, so it worked out.
