R.I.P USA, 1776-2008
    #8286607 -

im just starting this post now so it will be here when.. well, when we arent. This country is going to shit fast and it is all because of Gee to the Double-U Bee and his fucking Iraq/Afghan War. This prick just sits there and keeps pressing the matter and pressing it, not giving up. Hes keeping it on the back burner until the new president gets into office to take over and fix. That is if we make it that far this year. We're doomed guys, fucking doomed.

Every time history repeats itself, so do the people who say the sky is falling.

Every war, or every bad spot in history, you can always find someone believing in the end of days, or the destruction of a civilization.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but i am not saying you are right. Any day this whole thing could go us in our faces. It has happened before to much older civilizations, and it will happen to us eventually. It is the nature of humans to destroy ourselves. The only organism on this planet that does that same thing as effectively as humans do are viruses. Its scary yes, but I'm not going to dwell on it.

Who knows, you may be right, but most likely you are completely paranoid. Justifiable tho lol.

The OP may not be making reference to the end of civilization or even a nation but rather what I gathered from his post was that he is saying goodbye to the old "America" for it is now lost. The America that you knew say thirty years ago is gone forever.

Personally I think America died a long time ago. I don't see how anyone can disagree. It's a much different version of itself than it was in the beginning, in 1776. Some things have changed for the better, and others for the worse.

I hate the state of our nation at present and I anxiously await the future. I'm curious to see what future version of America will be born from this mess we have today.

Yea, right after the last world war.
Shit started going down hill right after that war.

And never really stopped.

America has never been consistent. So then what is exactly ending? If you are referring to the last 20 years most of us have grown up in, then i agree. But change is Americas thing, so what is different?

IMO it changed once we started to fight wars which weren't even justified through a cultural idealistic point of view, as WWI/WWII and Cold War and all that were faught under. Once Vietnam happened, separation of people/government started to widen further and further, and now we're in another retarded war which most people don't agree with.

Wars used to be SUPPORTED! That idea is so strange to me...

Can we start a "doomsday section", or perhaps a "conspiracy theory" sticky?

All of our history has war in it, its getting pretty old. the past 60 years most of the same people are still running congress, why isn't there a 4 year limit on their office to? All those old people and their old ideas are worn way out. Our founding fathers are turning in their graves right now i bet. The constitution has so many amendments, it isn't recognizable anymore.

There are a few reasons I belive this. #1. The war in Iraq was unjustified and morally wrong.  However, we continue to sit there and let our troops die for no reason.  Its obvious they want us either out of the country or dead, either way they will continue to attack our troops until they acheive one or the other.  It will never end.  #2. The constitution was ratified to give equal power to the states.  Not complete power to the government.  Evidence A. The Patriot Act, Evidence B. DEA raids trumping the compassionate use act in Cali.  #3. Money has always been what "makes the world go round'"  but we as Americans wont have much to spend shortly.  Gas prices are through the fucking roof and we are just giving our money to oil companies when the government should be funding more money towards research of alternate fuels.  There is more but ive got a lot to do yet today, so ill catch up with this thread later tonight.  :mushroom2::stoned:

I agree with it a lot. But I hate that people try and say it's all Bush's fault. They seem to think that a democrat getting elected president will save us. It's about more than who's president, they're just the face to the destruction. :2cents:

I dont think a democrat is need, although balance every 8 years in the White House is beneficial.

I agree with you, except for the bit about the virus.

I think it is in every species to destroy the world around it, resulting in its own death. If any species is given the chance to overpopulate, it will. Think of introduced pests, and what they do. Rabbits aren't native to Australia, so they don't have any natural predators to keep them in check. The result is they breed uncontrollably, eat all the vegetable matter available, and then experience a massive die-off.

Humans are doing this exact same thing, with our own particular spin on it (being nature's first foray into abstract intelligence).

Once, men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free.
But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

I agree, it won't provide a lot of balance but it will help, no doubt. I didn't mean you personally, just your everyday "I hate Bush because he's dumb" crowd.
