This is so vary vary true.
Coming from someone that was somewhat psychologically abusive to an ex girl friend (I know it makes me a bad person, but I have since grown up). And being in a situation similar to the one your ex was in, I can say with total confidence that the only reason you were treated like shit in that relationship is because you have no self respect and never put your foot down,
It doesn’t matter what you have done, or been through in your life. If you hold your head up, and demand respect then that is exactly what you are going to receive. This goes for anyone! How many men you have fucked, has nothing to do with the respect you can get out of people, even boyfriends.
I learned something about myself early on. If im dating a woman that has no self respect, I naturally use this observation to my advantage. In a way it is a subconscious phenomena, I don’t even notice it moving in. This is something I realize about myself, and it has completely changed the type of women im attracted to. I know what kind of girl I need in order to avoid and abusive relation ship, and it’s easy to spot, when a woman demands respect from men you can spot it within seconds of communicating with her. Likewise, you can immediately tell if you’re dealing with a girl that gets stepped on. And now I know to keep walking when I run into those.
It usually starts as small forgivable offenses, but as soon as a couple reaches that critical point, the behavior manifests itself in to permanence.
I don’t know if that made sense, what im saying is you can’t let your guard down, even a little. As soon as you allow yourself to get stepped on just a few times, you will almost never be able to re-assert yourself as an individual that deserves respect.
Fuck how many people you have been with, that’s the last thing you need to be concentrating on. It’s time to empower yourself! Realize you’re potential.
