definitely not, but to function (well) in this current social setting we are in, one must be fairly grounded in what is generally accepted [i know, pretty blanket statement there] as reality.

but rational thought doesn't have to necessarily the end-all, be-all. one can maintain rational thought when necessary while, or even at the same time, remain in a state of "irrational" awareness
