It has been confirmed that there has been a shooting on campus and several people have been taken away by ambulance. All classses are cancelled on the DeKalb campus. People are urged not to come to campus. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

All classes on the DeKalb campus are cancelled for tonight.



3:20 p.m.

There has been a report of a possible gunman on campus. Get to a safe area and take precautions until given the all clear. Avoid the King Commons and all buildings in that vicinity.

So how soon till Hillary starts yapping about gun control?

I'm wondering if McCain will comment, but I'd guess he doesn't have much to gain from doing so.


I'm guessing by 9PM EST there will be a comment from either Hillary or Barack that mentions their "sadness", bonus points if the words "gun control" are included in said statement.

I think we need super gun free zones... I don't think the shooters are respecting the ones we allready have.... I mean you can shoot someone anywhere, but why do you have to fuck with the gun free zones? Shows a lack of class, imo.


Maybe put up signs to remind the shooters they can't kill people w/ guns on campuses. Kinda like how Berkeley has "nuclear free zone" signs on Telegraph and shit.

i think instead of banning drugs and allowing guns
we allow drugs and bann guns
cuz no1 wants both allowed, no politician at least
and drugs hurt urself, while guns hurt others

well they're certainly not culpable

but they do cause harm, and I think we'd be better off without em... but hard to turn the clock back on that one

and given the realities, and rights we should all have, why not allow guns?

I'd rather have an armed citizenry than an armed police and criminal force

These types of mass shootings always seem to happen in gun-free zones, but never at firing ranges.

Our schools are all drug-free zones, but they are all full of drugs.

Lyndon B. Johnson declared war on poverty in 1964.

Why does the government even try anymore? Every time they try to fix a problem, it gets much worse.

I hope Obama wins and all that talk about him never doing anything is true.

And the opposite has a name as well... socialist communism... where the government owns everything, including the people... and we have seen how well that works.

In a perfect world, I would agree with you... unfortunately, the world isn't perfect, and history shows time and time again that when you take guns away from the population, tyranny (in the literal sense) is not far behind.

Maybe someone could have stopped it IF THEY HAD A GUN? Better yet, if more than one other parson had a gun? Maybe like people who have their own concealed carrying permit? I know a few people at my school that have permits. They are registered, but for some reason the govt' thinks that even know they went through all the trouble of getting the proper paperwork to legally own and carry a firearm, they shouldn't carry it into a place where they are statistically at higher risk for being shot than anywhere else they might go.

Its kinda hard to jump someone with a gun, especially after they're already shooting.
Not as hard as outrunning bullets though.
