first time tripper question

I read somewhere on this site that you should trip by yourself the first time only "if you are brave". Is this supposed to be a serious warning?

if you do a tiny dose the first time which you should do... 1.75 g's depends on person though. But if you do a small amount you will be fine by yourself, just stay indoors first time though.

Yes. It would be foolish (possibly deadly) to experiment with substances that may make you hallucinate if you're not familiar with the effects.

I recommend finding the person you are most comfortable around who is willing to join you. If you are looking to get into the non-game atmosphere, dim or turn off the lights completely and lay down in a room with the person and see what happens.
It's good to outline the purpose or intent of the voyage before-hand with the person so there are no misunderstandings...

Tripping solo with 1 gram you should be fine. 2+ you should have a sober non-tripping friend with you.

I think that where most people go worng is that they think the effects of psilocybin are linear like alcohol and pot; i.e. the more you drink the more drunk you get, on some predictable scale. In other words, on mushrooms, the affects at higher doses are not at all like those on lower doses just more intense, they are qualitatively different. Go slowly. You have plenty of time.

Make sure that you will ABSOLUTELY NOT be disturbed for 5-6 hours. Trip inside or way away from the public. No driving!

me and my friends ate some shrooms about 3am this morning. everyone left early, thinking that it was only a mild trip. after everyone had left my apartment (this morning) i started tripping and freaking out cause i was by myself. luckily i calmed myself down and i'm ok now, but make sure that you're not alone for your first try.

i am not afraid of tripping alone now, though. i learned the hard way, i think.

hey thx for your great tips guys, I was planning on staying home, listening to music/watch movie, and venturing out in my backyard (garden and forest) cause I know I will be comfortable there (of course with parents gone!) There are always animals roaming my yard (squirrels, bats, racoons, and lots of birds, and the occasional toad) so I think it would be neat to watch them cause most aren't scared of humans.

Man forget that. I hate when people say you shouldn't try something for the first time alone. If you are strong enough I say do it man. The trip will be fucken insane and mad hatter like but what are trips if they aren't like that? Just know that you can handle your shit. If you doubt your mind then don't.

Ummm. it is hard to say what is right and wrong. As you can see everyone has a different opinion on the matter. I feel that if you are going to shroom for the first time make sure that you are with someone that you trust, and are comfortable with. Let them be your tour guide in a sense. that way if you do start to freak they can bring you back and it is always a warm and comfortable feeling knowing someone sober is there to talk to you and kleep you from tripping out your first time. I think the more you experiment with these guys the better luck you will have at a solo trip. But for the first time i woudl say do them with somebody around to keep you cool. It is just a whole security and comfort thing.
